I, believe you had to have a camera phone at the time pic mail launched to had it grandfathered to an older plan. But, just for kicks get a camera phone and see if pic mail pops up onto your account thru an ESN swap without a CSR touching the codes. If you are grandfathered pic mail then the system will let you know.

My PM-325 should arrive in the next hour or two and my Unlimited Vision service is still in effect. Forgive my ignorance, but how does one go through the ESN swap? This used to be on-line, correct?

i did the *2 route..no straight no answer. i have the old 85 dollar 2000 minute plan plus some extra...it came with free vision. so before i got my 8200, i was using prem pack...i'm trying it out, i've sent one picture to my email...when my billing cycle rolls around, i'll see if i get charged for that or not. i'll let u know.

As far as online swaps go I don't trust it myself. Best to go to a SPCS store or use a CSR thru *2 to do an ESN swap.

As far as online swaps go I don't trust it myself. they're easy not to trust....because you basically can't do it. unless you're coming from a non-vision phone to a vision phone and you change your plan.

Picture mail is now showing up in my account but I don't know what password it's expecting. When I enter my number to retrieve my password it says "Error retrieving your password. Make sure your PCS Phone Number was entered correctly."

Ideas?

When you upload your first picture, it will ask you to enter a new password and then you will be able to log in to picture mail.

you don't *get* a grandfathered plan. you *have* a grandfathered plan.

if you don't have it, you won't get it

Hey, for some reason, I have picture mail coming up on my rl-4920, which isn't a cam phone. Does this mean I have it? I have had vision for a couple of years now.

it's based on the plan and the time you subscribed to vision, and not the phone.

if you had vision pre-feb. 2004 and still have it on your plan, bingo! you have grandfathered features (or so 've read).

pretty sure that pre-feb 2004 vision plans (that haven't been changed since then) have the free/unlimited stuff

The grandfathered items are, at least on my $85 2000 min plan from 12/2002. FREE (unlimited) pic and vid mail. Unl. SMS for life and it is FREE on the primary line.

I had a 4900 with the 10 dollar unlimited for 18 months. I was grandfathered in and bought the 8200. It asked me if I wanted picture mail for 5 bucks and I said yes and have never been charged for it. It was grandfathered in also with my unlimited SMS.I was going to pay for it anyway because 5 bucks wasn't much and I get this work discount.
