I know very little about the ins and outs of Bluetooth. I'm thinking about picking up the 325 and a bluetooth adaptor for my pc and I was wondering the following:
Can I sync the address book over bluetooth?
Can I transfer files (ringtones, screensavers, etc.) over bluetooth?
Can I move the photos I take from the phone to a computer over bluetooth?
Additionally, can anyone recommend a decent cheap headset and pc adaptor (are the cheap little usb ones any good)?
Thanks in advance!

i have a Kensington BT adapter. it works fine.
I personally would stay away from cheapo headsets. I find that they have more pairing problems than with ones by Nokia and SE.

Looks like this phone will have the profile for all that you mentioned disabled. We'll know when someone actually has the phone in their hands though. The headset will still work though.

That's amazing. I may actually have to get it. :hee:
It's actually an interesting design though. I wear glasses so I'm always a bit wary of the behind the ear designs. I'd love to find a bt headset modelled on the plantronics mx100 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/wireless/B00006I9SU/pictures/14/002-7266783-2602414#more-pictures) (which I haven't used but been told feels great).

I wear glasses and once I got used to it, the SE Akono works very well.

From what I was told about this phone, you can not transfer data through it in the form of ringtones, etc. but you can use it with DUN and headset/handsfree

so we won't be able to use #777 with LG 325? That would suck! If that's the case, I am moving to Verizon. :eyebrow:

...which has the Motorola 710: a phone with crippled bluetooth as well.
until someone has a phone in their hands, everyone should just simmer down

So what parts of this phone's bluetooth are crippled?
Will I be able to send pictures/contacts via Bluetooth? Anyone feel like answering the initial question?

Will I be able to send pictures/contacts via Bluetooth? Anyone feel like answering the initial question? like i said, it's mostly conjecture until someone actually has one in their hands. and instead of speculating, i did answer the OP's question on BT dongles and headsets.

EDIT:OOPS EDRAVEN BEAT ME TO THE PUNCH IN ANOTHER THREADI very well could be. I posted the incorrect version of the story opening paragraph by accident.
I'm still waiting to hear back from LG and/or Sprint for confirmation.
I updated the story to say that I goofed it up. Sorry for the confusion.

OK, now that one day after my initial post people have the 325 in hand... Anyone been able to sync contacts or transfer files yet?
I just got off the phone with a Sprint rep who was trying to sell me HARD (Wow, you mean you're offering me a $150 rebate because I'm such a GOOD LONGTERM customer? Not because it's automatic after 18 months? How kind of you. Free Vision for two months? And then my $10 Vision becomes $15 Vision? Uh, no thanks.) and she said that the 325 could sync and transfer over BT.
Of course I don't trust her.

As I mentioned in another thread, LG just contacted me and told me that the 325 does indeed have DUN profile support.

Thanks Michael. How about OBEX? (That's for file transfer, right?)
Marlon_JB2
12-03-2004, 02:04 PM
The phone does *NOT* have OBEX. Yes, you are right, that's for file transfer/syncing.

BT DUN = yes
OBEX = no

So no way to transfer phone numbers/contacts whatsoever without getting a stupid cable??
No wonder why so many people think Bluetooth is useless.
