New SU Logo!!!?

Requirements? I'd like a logo to include the site name and slogan, "Created by the users, for the users". I always thought it was nice to have a picture of a mobile phone. What other thoughts do you have?

I was thinking maybe a 3-d looking logo. I don't know if other colors would work...maybe a good shade of red. It'd be really nice to have some sort of animated logo that has the phrase "Created by the users, for the users" fade across the logo below "SprintUsers.com." Maybe an animated graphic of a cellular tower with radio signals beaming out of it -_-. What does everyone else think?

That sounds good. Maybe a phone with animated lines showing the phone receiving signal too (kind of like what they did on the show "the Jetsons" when the cars flew through the air...or anitmation showing signal going from a tower to the phone? It could get pretty complex, but look cool if its done right. I wish I have the skill to animate what I'm envisioning...anyone see what I'm trying describe here??...

The bottom one looks pretty cool, if you make the "U" wrap up and more around the S that would be sweet. Also maybe vary the colors a little bit, use some bold blue against the bright red, shadow it maybe with the blue or something?

That one is cool, how about putting a few more phones in the blank space, maybe represent the best from each manufacturer? IE A700/7400/4050/6225/etc??

actually...that was the plan. the antenna you see is one of the Motorola i730... which didn't go too well, then Photoshop froze. I got frustrated, and just managed to save it. There was also supposed to be "Nextel Too!" text somewhere.

Maybe Adobe Photoshop doesn't approve? :p

Yes. All logos must be approved by photoshop in light of potential mergers.

My $0.02, at least you posted an actual suggestion, there have only been one or two others that did, the rest is just guys like me who don't know how to do it but discussing it.

I'll chime-in here again. I would like to keep the logo limited to the size of the current one so the banners can still be in the current place. If we go with a larger logo then the banner would have to be placed somewhere else, which may be more obtrusive.

When I think of a really good logo, some things that come to my mind are that I would like something in EPS format so it can be scaled to any size. I'd rather not use pictures of handsets because then we immediately 'date' the logo. What I would *really* like is to make an 'identity' out of the logo. I really like how PhoneScoop.com integrated a handset right into the words. Think of some of the other popular logos out there like eBay, the napster cat, etc. Anybody see what I mean?
