I can get to the wap site okay, but when I click the "Message Forum" link at the top of the list, it just re-loads the main wap page again.

Oddly enough, after it reloads I look at the address bar and it does say sprinusers.com/forum/wap, but there's no forum to be found. I'm using an i600.

thanks.

I noticed I was also unable to access anything except the front page -- couldn't even get my A600 to load the links sections.

All the other links on the front page (besides the Forum link) seem to work fine.

i'm gonna put this in the "Forum Info" section. I got the rest of us looking into the problem.

The forum link works fine from my A680.

The direct link to the WAP side of SU is http://www.SprintUsers.com/forum/wap

you have a typo in your link - either that or there is a typo in the link on the page.

I turned off the wap forum, then back on and ran a database update. Let's see if this fixes the problem.

Isn't working for me yet... my A600 just says recieving over and over and eventually just stays on the main page. Vision has been fickle lately though (which is why I didn't start a thread when I noticed this happening yesterday), so it may actually work for someone else.

Nope, forum/wap just reloads the main page.

i600 & Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone users:

Download the WiForums PocketIE Accept Header Modifier application for MS SmartPhone's running Windows Mobile 2003 at http://www.WiForums.net/EUEUF/WiForums_PIE_AHM.zip.

The application ensures WML compatibility between WiForums FF v3.0 and Pocket IE (sadly, Pocket IE/IE does not support the true XHTML pages that WiForums 3.0 outputs).

Follow the installation instructions listed in the instructions.txt file enclosed in the zip.

I'm just getting a message saying:

"The wireless forum has been temporarily disabled"

You will have to ask Dave why he (or the wireless forum administrator) has disabled the SU WAP forum.

It takes some getting used to, but once you do, it is a very good way to kill time in traffic, waiting in line, etc.

I think it is a vision thing. I can't login at all from my Sprint phone.

It's not a vision thing on my end if I goto http://www.sprintusers.com/wap/wap on my phone and goto the message forum link, I just get a blank page.

But when I goto the login screen via http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/wap/login.php

after I entered my username and password and says that my username or password is invalid and that I don't have access to the forums.

Weird, something Dave to look at this morning, I wonder when I was banned if there was a flag that wasn't reset or something when I got unbanned.

Is this the first time you have tried to access the wap since being unbanned?

ok, I just had someone check this for me from another phone, and can log in fine, so it's something to do with my phone and not my account.

Sorry for all of the posts, I think I know the problem:

On WiForums using my phone, I think it's still trying to log under "Fire" which doesn't exist anymore, now I just need to figure out how to force my phone to sign off under "Fire" so I can re-sign on again.

I think you may have to clear your handset's cookies.

Thaddeus

Sbiz had a similar problem several months ago, and we came to the conclusion that it is a Sprint WAP gateway issue.

What we know:

- Using your login credentials on another vision phone tied to another Sprint account will result in a succesful login.

- The wireless forum instructs your browser to clear all SU WiForums cookies whenever it redirects you to the login page, whether or not Sprint's servers actually do so is beyond me.

- Once you enter your username, your password and then click on login, the forum does not include cookies in its authentication processes.

- Sprint deleted & reestablished Sbiz's PCS account but it did not fix the problem.

Sbiz informed me that Sprint was supposed to supply him with a refurbished phone in October, if he is still around, you should find out if the new phone tied to his account allows him to log in.

ok, I got it working again... I ended up having to change my vision username and that fixed all of the problems.

Follow up question:

Did you install and run the WiForums Pocket IE Accept Header Modifier (http://www.WiForums.net/EUEUF/WiForums_PIE_AHM.zip) application on your i600?

ok. done. what's that all about? i saw that it emailed something to you.

Thaddeus

The page emails me the cellular phone's accept header , in your case that of the 8200. The accept header includes information regarding what type of files and/or markup languages (WML, XHTML, etc...) the phone can accept.

In order to rule out vision as a culprit can you try mtied's solution, which was to changet his/her vision username?

Anyone else with an 8200 experience the same problem?
