I read through the manual to ensure I am doing this correctly but may have missed something.
Hitting Menu + 4 + 3 + 2 then selecting any picture saved to the phone by pressing the camera button and then OK/"Mail icon" does nothing. The check mark will appear next to the picture but, hitting OK does nothing and the only options listed in the Menu are Assign, Camera, Erase, Edit Caption, Picture Info, In Camera, and Expand.
Firmware XC27, HW 680.08, PRL 10023 (about to get updated)

Once the picture is Saved to the Phone itself you can not upload it, if it was still in the "in camera" section you can upload it ( this happens usually right after you take a picture), if you want to upload it then keep the pic in the "in camera" area not the "saved Phone" area
hope this makes sense and helps :D

Makes sense. Just sucks. The manual states otherwise. I wish I could believe the manual but, you just reaffirmed what I was afraid I had already discovered.

The "in camera" and "saved to phone" thing is only for Sanyo's...
When you take a picture it is saved to review/share...from only here you can upload...if you save it to your picture wallet, you cannot upload/send it...

My A620 has review/share (in camera), and picture wallet (saved to phone)...

They should change the feature! This is so ridculous! I'm an angry and outraged customer right now........ -_-.............................. So outraged.... I found a site, a link posted in this forum telling you that one software could send and transfer pictures from your phone to your computer. I'm going to try it out, if you really would like to have your pictures, from what I read, this software can help. Here is the link:
SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
