Hi, People,

Just read the thread about the 6200 receiving SMS as shortmail and I have the same problem with my Samsung A680. If i send from Sprint's text message page, it arrives as a normal text message but all SMS sent from phones comes as shortmail, requiring a link via Internet in order to read it.
Does anyone know if the A680 is capable of normal SMS? One of the reasons I upgraded was to get rid of the shormail i had on my LG5350. I'm not sure the camera aspect is worth this nuisance.

Just want to add this info about the VM-A680 from Sprint's phone description page:

SMS Text Messaging Capable Send, receive, and reply to text messages instantly with an SMS-capable Sprint PCS Phone across the room or across the country while on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network.

If you swapped ESN's during the last month, then yes, you will have a problem. Unfortunately, your provisioning for SMS did not go through, so the system that routes msgs still thinks you have a Shortmail device. This has affected a lot of people, and they are trying to pinpoint the problem. The problem is that we cannot just "add" someone to this service as it is provisioned when the number is set up.
