After the brouhaha over the Treo 650's memory architecture resulting in less usable space, PalmOne has committed to upgrading the ROM to fix it. In the meantime they'll send Treo 650 owners free 128MB SD cards on request. original article (/.) (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/11/25/154216&tid=100&tid=128)

Unless you are a power user, it really doesnt affect you. I have all the same apps as on my 600, and the same amount of contacts...and I still have 21mb of usuable storage, plus a 512 md sd card.

Well I like "avantgo" but it's size triples in main memory (I had to leave off my drug program eprocrates and will go to Skyscape because they support extended memory and I just installed "ewallet" on my 512 card and it is 356 and when I copy it to main memory it doubles!! Serious issues, I may give Palm a 2nd chance until Samsung or one of the newer Pocket PC phones has the same size as the Treo. These tech companies just want to make us suffer; I guess.

Same thing with Hp coming out with BT headphones but they are tied to the Ipaq's. but who knows maybe Apple will release a BT Ipod to go with the Hp BT headphones.

Also Palm did not give us the ability to play music on our BT Headsets. I played with it tonight. I bought the Scala 500, nice little BT headset. I will call Palm Adminstrative offices on Monday and complain or at least state the issues. They are a big company, this could cause them a lot of chest pain if they fail to solve our problems.

I like to use graffiti and do well at it but with this new keyboard; typing is easy now. They can have a winner as far as I am concerned. The 3 issues with me are.

1. BT Music
2. Memory (how bout the same memory they gave the T5 (my doctor friend has one and loves it; nice screen too.
3. Wifi would be nice but I could live without it until Palm's next release April or Nov 2005.

I have already bought my new Vaja case for the 650; I had one for the Treo 600, excellant cases!!

Doesn't BT audio need BT 1.2 to work well? The 650 only has 1.1

I purchased my phone direct from Sprint. Can I still get the free card and how is this done?
