according to locl\line you must wait 20 days from when you sign up for the insurance to be efective

Damn. Yes it's either 20 or 22 days after signing up for it to have effective coverage on your handset. You are out of luck.

sorry you are out of luck if the insurancee was added at the point of activation of the phone then you would be covered immediately, if added later you have a 20 day waiting period before it goes into effect. the phone was solen before the insurance was effective so it is not covered , sorry, with the the new tep program also if sprint added the insurance after the point of activation w/o having you call lockline and have proper test calls done, the insurance is null and void and you need to contact sprint for a refund of all your premiums. you can thank all the reps out there for that one adding insurance to help customers get their phones replaced with no insurance.

Well, I suppose you can call your rep and say that you lost it at a later time than you did...I dunno, but you should probably cancel your phones connection to Sprint (if that doesn't void the insurance I mean)...Also what you could do is call your own phone using afriend's cell phone, or your home land line phone. Find out who took the phone and go over there and completely **** kick the bastard until he give you your cd's bubblegum and phone back and he's bloodied in a hamper

If your phone was STOLEN... you need to call Sprint quick and ask to have your service suspended/paused. For all you know the person could be going crazy using minutes, calling tiny foreign countries, etc... sorry about what happened, but I think it will only be worse if you don't tell Sprint what is up and that the phone was stolen since they won't do a lock/line replacement this early anyhow. You are responsible for all charges up to and including calls made until the very moment you call Sprint and tell them to disable your phone.
Even if the punk who stole your phone isn't using it, any half awake lock/line agent will notice it hasn't been registered in the system for an unusual amount of time and they might deny your claim anyway since it would look fishy (I've seen this happen to people who add insurance after their phone is broken, wait the allotted amounnt of time, then try and call in and get a replacement... not happening). Plus, if you did get a replacement it would cost you $50 deductable. You can probably find an 8100 used for around that?
Good luck, and sorry to hear about your phone.

Doesn't the 8100 have an option (like some folks say on select Sanyo phones) to push for a remote 'lockdown'? That may be an option, if not he is at the mercy of 'usuage' unless he calls to have the line 'suspended' temporarily...
