I just activated my phone, and the lady said that I could not use it for 4 hours. She said that I could not even answer calls on it. As soon as I hung up with her, it lit up and said preparing vision services and prompted me for whether I wanted to do it now or later. I did not hit anything yet, but I was wondering if this 4 hours was absolutely necessary or just precautionary. Any comments?
Thanks
she's just saying that because it could take that long to provision. in my experience you can usually make calls as soon as you get off the phone with them. worst case you have to reprovision again, it's not like it will ruin the phone.

Ok. I went ahead and tried to prepare vision services and I got a communications error at the end. At what point do I know if they are going to have to re-provision my phone?
that i couldn't tell ya. call and ask.

It's just precautionary, you could have pressed yes and it would have been fine. It may have done it automatically. You can try to use your phone if you want to without any problems.

They couldn't figure out how to program mine, until I told 'em after readin another site. Works great now.. I love the BT Headset.. really makes it nice, as I don't have to take it out of the holster to answer.. now to customize ringtones so I know who's callin without even lookin.

yes I don't think you can turn it off. Reminds me of my old star tech. I just thought it was odd that the light was flashing when I took it out of the box. Is there a way to turn gps off. I guess should look in the manual.

What do you mean flashing when you took it out of the box. The battery shouldn't have even been installed when you took it out of the box. No battery, no flashing light.
The flashing green light is a sign that the phone itself is on (ie you are getting a wireless signal.) If you hold down the red end call button, the Sprint Phone side will turn off, and you'll have just the Palm unit, and hte light will stop flashing.
If it was flashing when you first turned it on, that would lead me to believe that someone had activated your phone at one point or another.....
Might want to check into that.

Mine came with the battery out in the plastic bag.
I have a question, is there any other way to tell if you have a voicemail ie the blinking light changeing colors like on my old I-500, or do you just have to check your phone?
