I noticed the quality and volume on sprint downloaded ringers far surpasses any qcp ringers I have on my phone. The Icon is even different while looking at ringers in my phone. Anyone know if there is a different format used?

you need a program which allows you to encode in AAC. I'm working on a FAQ for it now

I joined d-d-n.com so I could take advantage of their AAC ringers that someone said that had. Now how do get the AAC ringers or is it automatic? I don't see "AAC" mentioned anywhere, but I have been using my own songs to make ringers.

its automatic...just pick the voice ringer you want, and it will automatically send it to your phone as an AAC

It not that they are complaining they dont understand the 7400 and a700 phones uses a different format. Do You Have Any Idea Around How Many Ringers You Can Have In The 7400 Cause I Got Around 21 In My 8100 But They Said The 7400 Is Diferrent Cause The Aac, So I Guess I Would Have Less Space For Ringers Even The Phone Has More Memory
Deval

depends on that bitrate you code the AAC files at

Sorry But I Don't Know What The Heck Is The Bitrate
It's like a type of compression. The higher the compression the lower the quality. In Deval's FAQ he found the best ratio between the two.

Ok. But When I Go To Ddn To Download A Ringer I Won't Be Able To Choose The Bitrate Or Whatever Unless I'm The One That Upload The Ringer So I Guess I'm In Square No. 1 If I Don't Upload.

I believe you can. When you click send to phone, just keep it at the default 56kbps and you will be fine

But How Do I Keep It Like That, Honestly I Don't Know Much All I Do Is Go Pick The Ringer I Like And Send It To My Phone Or Personal Space And Always Choose Like I Said The Highest Volume Cause I Like It Loud And That's It, See What I Don't Want To Do Is Go Buy The 7400 And Be Stuck That I Can Download A Lot Of Ringers Cause That's My Main Thing, I Said Before I Got 21 Ringers On My Phone Now And The Phone Have 512 K Memory And I'm Confused With Some Opinions That I Read Here That Because The Ringers Are Aac That Consume A Lot Of Space And Whatever And That's What Keeping Me In Doubt About The Phone

Well I know someone who has the phone, and yes, the AAC ringers do take up alot of space, so if you dont want them, you can easily keep your old QCP ones, but the quality wont be the same, and you will know it from the 1st time you listen to it

What You Mean That Keep My Old Qcp , Mean The Ringers I Got Now In My Personla Space Or Whatever And Dowloaded And Won't Sound The Same When I Downloaded In The 7400 And If I'm Able To Download All Of Them Cause Maybe Not

Hi,
I recently followed deval's suggestion on finding an mp3 trimmer for mac to create acc for that computer and it worked. I used d-d-n to convert to acc instead of itunes to make my life less complicated. However, I would like to know if you have some suggestions on the best volume and KB for a crisp, loud results at d-d-n. I always use the best KB (eats up a lot of space on 30 secs. clips) because I like the sound to be clean and clear, but if I pair that with a 40% loudness, my MM7400's speaker sounds like its going to blow already. I lowered to 30%, but I am worried that it may not be as loud when I am in a crowded, public space (I had this problem with my A700 that's why I switched). I have yet to try it in public, but maybe you have suggestions on combinations? Thanks!

I say keep it on 20 or 30 the most...and if you raise it from 56kb to anything higher, it will sound better and clearer
