I can relate to your ringer problem, the qcp ringers I made for mine were also loud. I have been able to convert them to aac through dBPowerAMP, but do not yet know how to upload the AAC to my phone, the focus uplaoder on this site does not accept that filetype.

www.kivers.com/vision
you can use that tool
if you dont know how to make your own AAC files, www.d-d-n.com offers a great tool in their personal space which allows you to upload your own MP3 file, pick the part you want as a ringer, and then it will automatically send to your phone. Good deal for $2 a month with access to thousands of ringers and images

AAC ringers are "very loud" on the MM 7400. Even the lowest setting is very loud.
If i put it in my pocket on the highest ringer setting, it sounds like a stereo blaring from nowhere. I can hear it in any setting. The audio quality is quite good...far better than I expected from that little speaker.

yep...you can make the files in a low bitrate and it still sounds awesome. I've put up ringers on my server, which you can access from your phone. see if you like any of the content

I've just been making my own using MP3s. I convert the MP3s to WAV, then load it in Windows sound recorder. Pick out the 20-30sec part i want of the song, then load that in Quicktime Pro 6.5,adjust the settings and convert to .m4a. Then upload it to my phone through http://www.kivers.com/vision/
It even explains how to do this ^^ on the upload site. Hope that helps ya!

I bought the MM-7400 phone yesterday. Just as you all have said, with this phone the QCP ringers sound aweful and AAC ringers sound awesome. Deval, thanks for those excellent ringers. Especially liked "Lady".
So, now I've tried to create an AAC ringer for myself. Thought I would try something different by using PsyTEL's MPEG-4 encoder. It's a command line encoder which you can get here:
http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Audio/aacenc_v215.zip
I used a sample file called test.wav and created test.m4a, which was uploaded through www.kivers.com - the results were ringers with no sound. Perhaps the problem is with the settings I used. Any ideas??? This should be useful for others if we can get it to work.
If anyone can help me get this to work, you won't need Nero or Quicktime to create the ringers.

quick note if you have a bunch of .wav ringers that you created on your computer before you converted them to .qcp. do like i did and use iTunes and convert them to .m4a ringers and you can do a whole lot a one time. (I did this because i had all the songs i had ever made still in the wav format and converted them. even though i dont have my mm7400 yet going to get it today).
