The music tones on the Sprint PCS site sound awesome, bad thing is the charge $2.50 each. Anyone know any sites I can download free music tones?
TIA.

Click on the "Links" link on the top toolbar at the top of your screen. The first link in that list will show you some free sites you can download from, either from your Computer or your Phone.

A lot of those sites are polyphonic ringtones which are fine but I'm looking for music tones, which sound just like the real song.

it is possible to download free ringers from various 3g and wap sites...but you must becareful because if the RIAA gets you you will be in a lot of trouble from the SPRINT industry for not paying for their overpriced ringers...just some food for thought :hee:

Actually in this particular case the RIAA cannot come after you Legally. The tones and music and such are actually being stored on someone elses Server. And also, now a majority of the 3rd Party sites like 3gupload.com, mbuzzy.com, etc..... are required, since they are running a business, to pay a annual flat fee to the music industries in order to allow people to d/l ringtones from their site. The fee however, isn't a whole lot, which is good for the music industry good for the company hosting the files and good for the end-user as well. It's a win-win situation. Because the Fee isn't expensive, the company hosting the music doesnt charge an arm and a leg, more customers, more customers means more money for the music industry. NOw as far as SprintPCS and all the other carriers charging what they do is ridiculous. Oh well. Otherwise if they didnt pay the fee then the site would get in trouble, not the end user. Now if you were hosting ringtones from home and stuff and allowing people to d'l them then you could get in trouble. Why do you think Napster got shut down? Cause even though everything was Peer-to-Peer a lot of the media was being stored on their servers. Now a KAZAA is straight Peer-to-Peer.

Are you talking about polyaphonic ringtones that sound like real songs? Or voice ringtones? Because if you want voice ringtones, it is really simple how to make them and if you want polyaphonic song ringtones I found one here (http://www.descent.dk/nike1/td/midiland.htm). But the only thing is you have to crop it yourself because those are full (midi)songs not just clips.

I'm refering to voice ringtones. How do you make them? Any help is appreciated.

Go to the FAQs section on this site. I believe it was Deval that wrote up a nice "how-to" on creating your own voice ringers. When you read through it for the first time it seems a little daunting, but it's really just as easy as DocChaos outlined above.

u can get free ringers by logging on to these websites on your phone:
*visionsamaritan.homeip.net/
*mobile.hopto.org (you have to register online and send verification to your phone, but it is completely free.)

u can also send ringers, screen savers, and games to your phone and download them through your notification message by going to:

Hope it helps.

Don't you ruin it for the rest of us! We've been pretty hush hush about this. I know Sprint's going to probably change their preview format soon if they know how many people are doing this...

It doesn't matter what the format is....
If you want a sound from a movie, tv show, web site (illwillpress.com rocks) etc...
Play the DVD (web site, etc) in a window, then launch Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe)
Save it as a wav, then convert to QCP...

Badda bing, badda boom.

PS.
Search Google for PureVoice. :-)

You have to go to the sprint digital lounge, it usually has a free code but if you're greedy & want more than one...

The website below has free codes to use on the sprint website to purchase ringers.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more.
