i hope the owners lock them out for a while. top NHL stars get paid too much.

i am surprised they aren't even meeting.........most sports league if there is a strike or lockout or such start having marathon negotiations until a deal is reached...but the NHL hasn't met for like 2 months
probably because no one cares. most top sports stars get paid too much. but hey, if their employers are willing to pay them that much, who cares. it's not my money, and i ain't buying tickets to watch that sh*t either!

tru... but they should b meeting and negotiating anyways. like nba, they might have a lockout next season too, so they're in talks now, TRYING to work somethin out... good luck :o

There was one the other day, but they both are about as far away as an agreement as they can be.

Serously, do sports players REALLY need millions of dallars a year? I would do it for well less than that.

the problem here is that top stars make as much as NFL players and the NHL makes so much less in TV revenue

Unless your in Canada or Detroit... the NHL isn't a big deal. They are the 4th most popular sport in the US. Players need to understand this, they aren't going to get the big bucks that they want. I actually have one of my former classmate/friends, Erik Cole of the Carolina Hurricanes playing. I feel bad only because I know he isn't getting squat right now.

The only reason I care is because I jumped on the Lightning bandwagon a few years back and had season tickets last year and this year. But to be honest, I really don't care. Gives me more time to watch football.
