if you want to save yourself the trouble of making your own AAC files, you can just make an account on www.d-d-n.com and just add MP3s to your personal space, and the system will automatically let you make it to AAC and also allow you to change the volume and put a bass filter

How do you pay for the d-d-n site? I signed up and am trying to make my own ringers. The payment pop up won't work, anyone have any ideas?

Is it possible to create ringtones in AAC format as loud as Nextel phones at the highest setting?

sure but you would probably blow the speaker

So That Mean Every Single Ringer On D-d-n You Can Dowloaded And Automatically Get's In The Phone With The Aac Format And You Don't Have To Do Something Like Downloaded For Other Phone, Tell Me About It , Cause That's The Only Thing I Need To Know To Decide If I Upgrade From 8100 To 7400, But I Just Want To Keep Dowloading Like I'm Doing Now From D-d-n And Do Nothing Extra, Thanks A Lot.

yeah...if you get the 7400 and change the phone in ur DDN profile to the 7400, all the files sent to your phone will be AAC. no other programs or anything needed

hi deval!
my question has nothing to do with the above, but to your post regarding options for creating aac ringers w/o quicktime pro. the downloads are only for PC; do you know any way that i can create my own aac ringers for mac? i will really appreciate the help.

Deval
12-03-2004, 06:08 AM
honestly, I cant really help you there, since i'm not a mac user. But, I know with iTunes you can do it. Just need to find an mp3 trimmer for the mac, and use iTunes to convert it to AAC.

Okay,
I am finally feeling a little left behind here! Having as much knowledge about SPCS and it's systems as I do. I am finding I am needing help in figuring out what the heck is MultiMedia and ACC ringers?

What does the MM pack do and why would I need it if I move up to the 7400?

Let me know! Besides, there are probably others w/ the same questions, but wont ask!

Thanks,

Patrick

the MM pack is pretty much mobiTV running at 15fps, with more content. pretty cool actually.

the AAC ringers are voice ringers converted from MP3 format, resulting in very clear sounding files, which are loud! AAC is the codec used to compress them, and make them into MP4 files.

you dont need to get the MM pack to get the 7400.

THANKS FOR THE INF. ALSO AGAIN AND SORRY TO ASK THEY AAC RINGERS TAKE A LOT OF SPACE ON THE MEMORY, THEY TOLD ME DEPENDS ON THE BITRATE OF THE RINGERS BUT HOW CAN I FIND OUT THAT INF. ALL I KNOW WHEN I DOWNLOAD FROM DDN IS THE FILE SIZE THAT'S IT , ALSO ON DDN THE PERSONAL SPACE YOU CAN KEEP WHATEVER YOU HAVE IN THERE AS LONG AS YOU'RE A MEMBER AND PAY OR @ CERTAIN TIME DELETES THE INF. as long as you are a paying member, you get to keep them there. basically the only way you can find out that info about the bitrate is if you make your own from home. if you just get the ones from DDN, they will average 120kb per ringer

THANKS FOR THE INF. IS BECAUSE THEY SAID DEPENDS OF THE BITRATE IS THAT I'M GONNA HAVE AN IDEA AROUND HOW MANY RINGERS I CAN HAVE IN THE PHONE, LIKE NOW MY 8100 HAVE 512 K TOTAL AND I HAVE LIKE 21 RINGERS, BUT IF I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH SPACE LIKE I DOUBT IT THEN I KEEP IT ON THE PERSONAL SPACE AND CHANGE THE RINGERS FROM TIME TO TIME CAUSE I'M A REG. MEMBER OF DDN I'LL LOVE THAT SITE I DON'T THINK THEY CAN BIT THEM, THANKS A LOT.

I just have a question regarding DDN. I was browsing their site and previewing some of the voice ringers, but they sound really bad quality (QCP). I have a MM-A700, is it true that if I sign up and set my phone as the A700, I'll get all the voice ringers in AAC format rather than QCP automatically?

You got that right the ringers on my 8100 sounds ok but sometimes distortion and today with my 7400 got the same ringers and my co-worker approach me and said you change the phone right cause the ringers sounds different and it's like a stereo and it's true it's really nice sound.
