Hey guys, I am trying to make a phone site and was wondering if you could help. Right now I have the files and links to the files but when i get to the site on my phone it only plays them and doesnt have a way to download them... I was wondering what the code was that could make the files downloadable off of the phone. Thanks.

yup, thats cause with sprint you need a gcd file tell the phone that the content is downloadable and it also provides information about the content file (ringer or picture). the GCD file is just a text file that provides information about the ringer, such as its location on the internet, size, what type of file it is, etc. you can find detailed information at http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/faq.php#GCD

Ok, I was thinking... Do I have the link (to download the file) link to the GCD file? Or, do I just need to have the GCD file in the same directory?

And one more thing... I was wondering if anyone knows of a web host (for free) that allows GCD files and PHP script? I need a temporary one(to test this stuff) before I get my cable back... Anyone know of any?

in the gcd file the link should be to your qcp file and as for your gcd the like for your ringtone should point to your gcd file both the gcd and qcp files should be in the same directory at least thats how I do it!!!

I use Key Focus webserver from my computer or small http they are servers that you run from your desktop that let you change the mime types as far as a host go to dyndns.org and sign up for a free subdomain! just make sure if you use a desktop server and you have a firewall or router that you configure it properly I can't get my site up and going until I get home because I can't figure out this dang router that I'm using! lol but I hope that helps also if dyndns.org doesn't get you there just type in homeip.net that will redirect you!!
