Just wondering, since the 5600 will have a mini sd will you be able to record longer video than the 30sec on the 7400?

It is possible, but no one knows to what the mini SD will be used for in the 5600 at this time?

Sprint will probobly still limit it to 15 seconds for their video message system...

I think it will support at least 30 seconds of video. The 7400 does, so chances are the 5600 will at least support 30 seconds, if not more.

From the sanyo website on the 7400:

"Built-in Digital Camcorder
- Two resolution options: 176x144 and 128x96
- Record video clips up to 30-seconds long"

the sd card can be used to save videos photos ringers and other downloads ... also the mm5600 has a usb connection option in its menu... not sure what that does

iirc almost all sanyos have had some sort of computer connection icon/menu...i remember the 6000 did, 4900, probably 5400 and others..

THE USB connection on the new 5600 is for photo printing. It has a small female connection on the phone which you will be able to plug in a USB connection and then connect to the printer. This is so you can print pictures directly from your phone.

Wirelessly posted (VM4500: SHARP-TM-150/1.0 Profile/MIDP-1.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 UP.Browser/6.2.2.6.c.2.102 (GUI) MMP/1.0)

Some one who supposedly played with the 5600 posted in another thread saying that the phone could record for as long as memory permits. Don't know how true that is but it sure sounds nice.

Does it use the same data cable as the 5300/8100/5500/8200/7300 etc? "small female connection" makes it sound like it will be a different cable.

Yeah, that phone is much longer than the 5500. Kind of brings me back to when I had the 5300 (that was a brick!). However, it has alreay been confirmed that it will use the miniSD format for the storage card.

I was thnking the same thing. If it was a darker color it would bring the looks factor up tremendously. The thing with me going with the 7400 however is that I would miss a lot of the 5600 features, such as the card slot. Which I was really looking forward to.

Yep we are in the same dilemma my friend...The more I think about it I would go for the mm5600 because it will have the high end features I want like the memory slot and hope skins become available ASAP...I would love an alternate color more....

The phone does use the mini SD card. It will come with a 16mb card and the adapter to make it full SD. Also come with stereo headset for MP3 playback. And yes that's the color and the only color

Release is in January. Price is mid $400's.. I'm guessing $429 to $449.

I wouldn't mind the silver color so much, the keys look like they're darker like a grey color almost. I like the size of the external screen too. The length of the phone concerns me a bit, kind of reminds me of a 5150. How's the thickness of the phone?

It's basically like the VM4500.. just a little longer. My first impression/thought was.. WOW it's long.. similar to the 5300.. But it felt really nice in the hand. The screen is sooo clear and bright.. very impressed.
