I know that there are several variants of the device aka: MDAIII, PDA2k, SK66 (Blue Angel), Qtek 9090, SPV M2000 and such... it seems that there is a base model (shell & base electronics), however distrubutors such as sprint or tmobile can allow hardware tweaks such as bluetooth or 802.11....

I have been reading tons online, however I have never had a smartphone or pda so please bear with me if these are newbie questions;

1) Is there a SD/MMC card size limit that can be recognized? I have seem upwards of 4GB!!!

2) Can you install applications so that they reside on the SD Card?

3) Will the ppc-6600 loose data if the battery runs out?

4) Does windows mobile 2003 allow for a future upgrades (mobile 2005)?

5) I have seen on http://www.phonescoop.com where the ppc-6600 allows for 1xEV-DO, from what I can gather it is a data optimized "next generation" of cdma 2000 & is considered wireless broadband with data rates approaching 300-500kb/s. However I beleive that I have seen conflicting information on http://ecoustics-cnet.com.com/4520-8900_7-5553474-1.html which states that it is NOT supported. Does the ppc-6000 support ev-do or not?

6) does anyone know how long the battery will last in PDA mode?

7) phonescoop.com also mentions tha the ppc-6000 supports GPS/Location, I think that this is for emergency 911 purposes. Is it possible to retreive this information for use in an software app so that I dont have to go out and purchase a bluetooth or sdio gps receiver?

Thank you for your time

The largest SD card available is 1GB. Sandisk is supposed to introduce the first 2GB SD card this quarter.

5) From what I've herd the harware is present for the 6600 to support EVDO, but it will require some software upgrade to work on Sprint's network. Since Sprint is at least months away fom rolling EVDO out I wouldn't count on Sprint providing the upgrade at that time.

7) I think you will need an external gps reciever.
