Hello,
I am a new newbie on this forum. I have done some searching but have not found definitive answers. I have owned a jonny generic cell phone (via sprint) for several years (and it is dying, I need to upgrade), as I have been 'waiting' for the following:

1) Easy access to the web.
2) The ability to store & view pdf's
3) Word / Excel compatibility
4) SD/MMC card.
5) Wireless connectivity (bluetooth or 802.11x) to pc
6) The ability to listen to streaming audio & or video
7) Stereo headset that uses STANDARD stereo headphones (without adapters)
8) To be able to take pictures with the capability of storing on the phone for later transfer via #5 or directly to #4.
9) Touchscreen w/available qwerty.
10) Integrated GPS ( for navigation )
11) Speakerphone
12) mp3 player

I have been eyeballing the Treo 650 but it really doesnt appear to meet #2, #3, #7, and #10

Any other suggestions make/model?
Which is better palm or windows based?
Also is there good free software development packages available?

Thank you for your time

The Sprint PPC6600 will have all of those capabilities.

www.howardforums.com has a great review of the GSM version (PDA2k) versus the treo 600.

The PPC6601 (cameraless version) is available now through business sales. The version with a camera will be out in december.

The Treo600 and Treo650 meet all the above needs.
check

for more info.
Note neither of the deviced PPC or Treo will read PDF completely.

Thanks for the infomation.
After doing some MORE research today I think that I will end up getting the PPC-6601.
See http://www.phonescoop.com and compare the PPC-6601 and the Treo 650.

The ppc :
(+) more memory, lots more
(+) faster download potential with ED-DO (300-500kB/s)
(+) common windows interface
(+) streaming media
(+) USB
(+) Voice Memos
(+) I like the hideaway keypad

(-) more expensive
(-) shorter battery life

note I think that the screen dimensions on phonescoop.com are incorrect as I have seen some www pages with a side by side comparison of the HTC HARRIER (ppc-6601) with the treo 650 and the ppc definately appears bigger as seen in the howardsforum.com links!!!!!
