I'm already wanting it, too. I prefer flat-faced phones to flip phones, personally. I've had my eye on the 6225, but will wait to see what the price on this one will be. I'm hoping < $300.

I think since RS has it for $80 after rebate, its probably $250 or $230?

Yep. As I continued reading thru this forum I saw where someone posted a color ad offer for this phone showing the price as 229.99. Gee, that's right in my price range. Hmm... Will Santa come a bit early this year?? ;)

Hopefully it will be out soon.

Compared to my POS. T608, it has got to be better.

Minus' seem to be No spkr phone, No vibrate, and batt life but then again I have never had the T608 live up to it's claimed batt life

Nope. It will have the standard LG speakerphone which is a one-way monitor (for listening to voicemails and waiting on hold) and will be two-way when calling *2.

The phone has a vibrating ringer.

The battery life is rated at 3.2 hours which is in the same league as the 8200, 4500, 4050, etc.

Only a one-way speakerphone, like the one on the 5225? :(
Then again, if you have a bluetooth headset on, you don't really need speakerphone.

i like the slider look, but dunno bout the feel tho (never held 1)

I don't think I like the desing. I like to see and show people my funny caller Id pictures. It seems like a pain to have to slide it to see who's calling. I would have rather just had a regular candy bar style. :(

Can you place and answer calls with the slider closed? and when charging are the lights off or does it have the auto night light feature of the T608?

Does it also have a simple key lock feature like the T608?

Very good questions. I'm used to having a flip phone, so key lock will be something I'd like, but I'd want to be able to answer without opening the phone - especially via a Bluetooth headset.

I guess looks arn't important to you but to others they might be. Why do you feel you have to insult people by calling them a name? :( Can't we just get along. The matrix phone and the purple 8100 are too phones I wouldn't buy because of the looks. Probally more

This happens whenever no new phones, features or news comes out... :D Just think in a short time, 2 weeks or so..new phones will be out and we can move from disagreements to rating the NEW phones (Breathe In Breathe Out)....Now chill out gentlemen...thanks

Back on topic: I wanted this phone for the blootooth...but the more I see it...the more I am back to wanting the 5600...Im just confused....and never had a LG to compare it to my Sanyo lineup

BT is what is pushing me to this phone. I could care less what it looks like it will be out of site all the time anyways. My second line will be just for data to my PDA since SPCS has said it will not hinder the DUN profiles anymore. Before I get flamed for not useing the 650 or 66xx I just have to say once you use a VGA PDA you just can't settle for second best anymore

For me the bluetooth will give me the option to use my cars phone option...However other than that...I really have no need for bluetooth personally...The 5600 gives me all the other things that are important to me and I will use daily...All in all I will probably end up with both and decide which one I want to use weekly...or just add another line to my account...for $10 and call it a day. Again back to two lines or 4 lines total which I dont want.

http://www.treocentral.com/content/Stories/481-1.htm

Explains the start of there "new" thinking but I would bet this will NOT stay in place with the new High speed EV whatever the heck it was data plan. I would bet that SPCS is building in a way to meter non-phone Data usage with it's rollout

what is it with people and wanting a speakerphone on their cell.....it seems so silly to me. I don't wanna hear your call, and I would think the other party didnt want others to hear it either. I can only see it as use*** in the car, but even then if you had on a headset/earbud/whatever, then whats the point.....

Well, I never use the speakerphone when other people are around, say in the office or in public. But I use it often at home because it seems like people always call me when I'm about to open a door, feed the dog, put a load in the washer, etc.

I don't like headsets. Ugh. So, the speakerphone is a must for me because I spend a lot of time in my car going from appointment to appointment over a 40 square mile area. But, for most people, a headset will do. I'm just weird and neurotic.

As much as I would like a capable speakerphone, I willingly exchange that perk for working DUN/OBEX profiles...fingers crossed, of course.

Yeah, I'm also curious about the durability of sliders as well. Do they start feeling all loose and jiggly after a few months of use? I'd hate that.

This is why I'm hoping that there is a setting to make it optional to slide the phone open to talk on the 535, or to browse the web or menu options.

Deval
11-05-2004, 11:20 AM
Based on the design of it, I think you would need to keep the slide open in order to use it, because that would be the most practical thing. I hope the picture quality will be decent on this phone.

The first is a piece of ****, but that's not it. Read the thread. The piece of **** Bluetooth award goes to the T608 (which I have).

Bluetooth connectivity is cool, but the phone has so many shortcomings. I'd buy any other Bluetooth device Sprint puts on the market. It can only get better from here (right  ?).

What exactly is shared flash memory?

DcDave63
11-05-2004, 01:56 PM
I think it means that the Flas memory card you insert can be used by the phone for a number of different applications/items. Most likely for photos, songs, maybe even storage of the phone book and messages. There is no way to know 100% for sure until the phone is out and available (this week it started hitting Radio Shack stores)

You can operate the 325 fully with the slide closed...make a call and recieve a call...the purpose of this slide is to protect the screen, it's kind of a novelty...basically it gives the consumer something to do...otherwise this phone is a VERY SMALL candybar.

But the 325 does work with the slide closed.

burton, how is the camera on the lg pm325 and also, you might have said something about it, but is the sound quality loud and clear?

i was gonna pm you about these questions, but you dont accept pms on here

Just a note from the beginning of this thread, though Phonescoop shows over 3 hrs for the battery life on the T608, I don't believe that is the published time. I believe the official talk time is about 2 hours (which is about what most get with a good battery.)
As for the 325, hopefully the slider track will be metal. My dad has a digital camera with a sliding lens cover/power switch, and only half of it is metal. It began to fail after about 6 months of use. I'd expect a phone to take much more wear and tear (using it several times a day rather than a few times a week.) Anyone know if the phone will have an option to enable keyguard automatically based on whether the slide is closed or open?
