I am using my 3G Samsung A660 to connect to the Internet via Sprint's network using the #777 method and want to make sure that I am doing everything possible to keep my data usage at a minimum. I have unchecked the following from the Networking tab of my dial-up connection: File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks; Client for Microsoft Networks. I have also stopped the following Windows 2000 services: Automatic Updates; Background Intelligent Transfer Service; Computer Browser; DefWatch; DNS Client; Messenger; Net Logon; Print Spooler; Remote Registry Service; RunAs Service; Server; Task Scheduler; TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service; Windows Time; WMDM PMSP Service; and Workstation. I have also unchecked the following options in the Advanced tab of Internet Explorer (essentially disabling them): Enable Install On Demand (Other); Enable page transitions; Enable third-party browser extensions; Play animations in web pages; Play sounds in web pages; Play videos in web pages; and Show pictures.

Can anyone think of anything else? Or am I going overboard?
