I own a Sanyo 5300 (purchased from a private party), which I've been using with Sprint. I'm having a dispute with them, and my service has been disconnected for nonpayment.

I'd like to switch the phone over to a pay-as-you-go plan with US Cellular. Their website says their plans will work with any compatible cell phone (from what I've read, the 5300 is compatible with their network, CDMA).

Is there anything standing in the way of me getting the phone activated by USCellular?

Any tips?

Thanks

You may be able to get it activated. But it will be what is called a 'Voice Only' Phone. Meaning you wont be able to use Vision, Send pictures, Text Messages, ect.

That's cool.. I like the phone regardless... I just want to make sure that if I take it in, they'll be able to switch it over without my business with Sprint being resolved..

There is more to it than that ... you will have to set the MSL to 000000 and upload the USCC PRL into it

KevinAlso if any monies are owed from his previous acct. the phone may be nothing but a paper weight. (hench an unclear ESN) :eyeroll:

Overall, you won't know till you try for sure and see what they say...

USCC will not know that there is a balanced owed on it ... as long as they can load it into their system he shouldn't have a problem except for the other two things I mentioned

Hi all,

I own a PCS Sanyo-5300 and had unlocked. I also NAMING it sucessfully with CDMA network of LGE at Vietnam (2000-1x 800Mhz) but there is no signal.

I dont know this cellphone support for only Sprint carrier or for others CDMA network???? Because when I set naming, I only saw ESN, MIN, Country code, Network code, IMSI (all parameters is sucefully setting). But these parameters is not enough, must have others such as Primary Channel, Secondary Channel ... And I dont know how to set these parameters.

Thanks for all your replies.

Search for the code to get into the data settings on a 5300 it is possible, but a pain in the butt to do....

Hi NightWinggl,

I had went to data setting by ##3282 code, but in this item have only SID, Slot Cycle Index and NAI. All these for data setting only and the most important parameter for signal detecting Channel Setting is still not found :(.

Anyway, thanks for your reply.
Anyone else had experience help me, pls!

Thanks

Hi KevinS281,

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't think it will be complicated like that. I don't know how to upload PRL file to cellphone, what must be changed in PRL file from original PRL and software to perform this process.

Would you please guide those thing?

Thanks in advance.
