I recently got a Samsung sph-a620 phone and am planning on changing to it soon. My current phone is a sanyo 4900. First off...I am not in an area where Sprint is huge...however, my business account makes it the most economic choice. My Sanyo has excellent service in this area. The A620 I got came from my sister who switched to US Cellular because the A620 with Sprint had very bad reception in this same area. My question is this...should my Sanyo 4900 have any better reception than the Samsung A620? I like the A620 better due to the size and picture capability...among other reasons, and I want to make sure I am not going to sacrifice my usability with a loss in my reception quality.

My other question is this...can I somehow have my phonebook from my Sanyo 4900 transferred to the Samsung A620? If so....how would I do this....or where can I have it done? I do not have any data cables. Additionally, what good do the data cables do? What type of uses do they have? And, what is the "field service" area in the Samsung A620 phone that requires a 6 digit password? What might the password be? I like to play...and if I hurt the phone...I have a back-up. And no...I am not interested in purchasing any other "new" phone out there. The price of this phone and another A620 I have was perfect...they were free.

Thank you for the help.

Does anyone else seem to notice that Sprint ALWAYS messes up on the bill EVERY time you make any changes on your account? Do they simply think we will not notice and will pay anyway? I am very very carefull and specific on what I ask and the information they give me to try to avoid these errors. However, they ALWAYS make them...even after promising me that it won'e happen. Then I have to call when I get my bill and remain on hold for 20 minutes then talk to two to three different people all telling me how that can't happen....then find someone that says "oops, apparently we made a mistake....we will correct the problem...but we can't send you out a new bill that reflects the correction" My bills are needed for my taxes and when there are errors on each of them it really causes problems. I have been collecting data from the numerous times this has happened and am preparing to send the information off to the Attouney General and Better Buisiness Bureau along with anyone else that will listen. I am convinced that Sprint does this thing on a regular basis as a tactic to get more money...and if I am right...they are most certainly breaking the law and screwing many people even more. Anyhow...let me know if there are other's that have experienced this type of problem.

bring it to a sprint store, and have them swap it

I wish I could....however, I am in an unserved area for sprint....meaning, there are no sprint stores near me. Can anyone that deals with sprint phones do it too?

Don't think so. I know the corporate stores can do it without a problem
