Now, before you say this--I did look at the FAQ board and about the little blurb about call screening, but is there a way to bypass it when someone wants to directly call my voicemail, since the call screening only holds 18 second messages and I find that since it's so little, they people call back 2-3 times to finish their message :P :hee:

If they have a Sprint phone they can dial 11 -> your number and it will go directly to your voicemail

what are you talking about? You PHYSICALLY have to send the call to call screen in order to get to that 18 second box.
If you dont want to talk to the person, let it go to voicemail. Or dont they want to wait the 5 seconds to leave you there 18second+ messages?

I think you are missing the point. The call screening only allows 18 secs of recording. If he has someone dial 11-(his area code and number) then it bypasses his phone and goes to his voicemail, and it allows a message that will be much longer than 18 secs. What kind of message can you leave in 18 secs? Sometimes it takes longer than that for some people just to leave their number.

Ok so if you find that the 18 seconds is to short why not lets it go to voice mail, or answer. I don't understand why you want to bypass someone going voicemail so they can leave an 18 second clip on your phone.?

the appeal of call screening is that you can hear the person leaving the message and pick up if you want to. the downside is that it uses AT minutes, because it is a connected call.

Yes but OP doesn't like the 18 second clips that the screening gives him and it uses minutes so why does the OP want to bypass direct voicemail to use it
op wants cake and eat it too, wants to screen call AND let caller leave a 5 minute message so that he can use AT minutes to listen to it. might as well take the call. if it's someone you don't want to talk to, why not take the call and say you're busy? <1 minute to do that!

Once again...read his original post again:
"is there a way to bypass it when someone wants to directly call my voicemail, since the call screening only holds 18 second messages and I find that since it's so little"

it = Call screening
Well if they directly call voice mail then it won't go to the phone. Right? So what the hell is the question?

Yes, as posted in the 2nd post, dial 11, area code and the number.

Call screening is just like an answering machine built into your cell phone. You can hear who's calling you.

I use call screening to identify private callers. So my call-screen pre-recorded message says: "This is not my voicemail, you got this message b/c your number is witheld. Please identify yourself or call back from a non-private number. Thank U."
