Yeah. They make you wait 12 weeks for a rebateand then up the charge for the replacement. Sometimes I wonder when they'll ever actually do something good for the existing customers instead of worry about getting new ones. Of course, I doubt that will happen anytime soon, since they have enough new customers that they don't need to worry about having good customer service or any special incentives for staying onboard.

Actually the OP was talking about insurance replacements and how the deductible has gone up. You're bringing up the existing customer upgrade program.

So it is in fact $50? Im curious because i remember reading through here that for customers that had lockline before oct. they wouldnt have to pay the new deductible til '05. Maybe i missintrepid it.

From my understanding, existing customers won't pay the increased premium until 01/05, but we have to start paying the increased deductible now. That was what I understood from all the info we got...hope it helps.

What I got out of the Lock/Line paperwork that was sent to us customers, was that the deductable went up Oct 1st and the premium went up in Jan. I called Lock/line with my lost phone on Oct 2 and they asked me when I lost it....told them it was in Sep and only had to pay $35. I was expecting it to possibly be $50

ahh crap they did ask me when it happend i told them the 4th of oct so i guess i lucked out for a few days... The lady also said the phone has a 12 month warranty. I thought Lockline equipment only had 6 mos.

On a side note my 5500 has gone to crap everything that could possibly gone wrong has. From the re-dailing to people getting my text messages 12 hours later to broken flip and battery charging not making contact. I admit most of it was to the negligent owner. Oh well im just happy to get a replacement.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I was adding to the conversation something else that sucks about Lockline and Sprint in general.

I made a claim Monday of this week, cost me 35.00

The good news (if I recall correctly) is that the deductable for a damaged phone has dropped to $10.

Oops. You're right. Here's the detailes from the lockline.com website

Are the Equipment Replacement Program and the Enhanced Warranty Program available separately?
Yes. Starting October 1, 2004, if you choose to only have the revised Equipment Replacement Program insurance coverage, which covers losses resulting from lost equipment, theft, water and accidental damage (with a $50 deductible for each replacement), the monthly premium is $4.
The Enhanced Warranty Program, which covers mechanical and electrical failure only, both during and after the manufacturer’s warranty (with a $10 fee for each replacement), is available separately for an introductory charge of $1 per month until January 1, 2005 and $2 per month after January 1, 2005.

The BEST part of the revised program is that for warranty type replacements (i.e., mechanical/electrical failure), replacements can be handled both by mail or at a PCS store. This negates the big hassle with lockline, that 3-5 business day downtime, for these types of repairs.

ewp replacements are 10.00 cracked hinges and screens due to normal wear and tear are covered by this and replaced at the store, stores refusing to do these replacements are having store numbers, and login id's recorded for reporting to sprint. :) cust having the erp before 7/16/04 are paying 50.00 for replacements with dol after 10/01, and 35.00 for replacements before 10/1. customers signing up for erp from 7/16 to 9/30 are at 35.00 until jan 1st and then will go to 50.00 due to the fact that you can not change terms in the coverage certificate w/i the first so many days of signing up for the program.
insurance can no longer be added to any phone active on an account for more than 30 days, say thank you to all the reps adding insurance unauth. to phones already damaged just so the cust. can get it replaced cheaper than buying a new one.

Wait a minute on this one. I buy a new phone with a 12 month warranty. Are you stating that I can't add the extended warranty coverage at month 11, but instead I have to pay for it during months 1-12 (even though it's ALREADY covered)?? They split the loss vs. ewp programs apart even.

That doesn't sound right (or fair).

TEP covers anything that happens to your phone, from day 21-lifetime

Thank all the people who played insurance fraud by adding the ERP AFTER their phone was broken (screen etc..) just to get a replacement.

But they also have JUST the extended warranty program now too, so you shouldn't need to pay for that while the phone is covered by the original warranty. That was my point.

Canceled the replacement plan on 3 of my phones a few weeks ago. Such a waste of money. Came out to like 15% of my bill was going towards the premiums, then another $50 if I ever lose a phone (haven't lost a phone in 4 years). And I don't keep phones longer than a year, and have Best Buy PSP plans for all, so don't need Locklines warranty.

I just recently called Lockline to see if I could use the $10 warranty replacement, but I couldn't. I think the lady said something about me signing up for Lockline before July. My deductible would have been $35 until January she said when it will go to $50.
What should I be considering on my other phone which is uninsured? Is it too late to sign up now that I've had it since August?
I also just received a warranty replacement phone for free through the old insurance program. Is this phone still warrantied for another year or through the original 1 year from my last $35 claim. I'm all confused.

They failed to add ERP on the last line I activated, though it was written on my contract that I signed up for it. After receiving my first bill, I noticed it was not there and called lockline to add it. They told me I was ineligible to add it; as it has to be added to new equipment within the first 30 days. Luckily, I had the contract so Sprint added it retroactive to the date I purchased the phone.

So, no, you cannot add it to a phone one it has been 30 days on your account. If you have lockline on your account, and you do an ESN swap, the phone is covered.

I think it's a good idea to cut down on fraud...IMO

don't know about the the EWP since it can be purchased seperately, i'm off for the weekend but will find out when return to work next week. best bet is to call lockline on monday and asked to be xferred to enrollments, 800-584-3666

I'm still a little fuzzy in understanding what you're saying...

I know that EWP cannot be added after 30 days of the phone being active

IS ERP- the "I lost my phone" program also restricted to the 30day rule as well?

Now they have this total equipment that includes both so now they're both at 30day enrollment days?

I was angry when I heard that when I went to get my replacement. Now I have to wait because what was done with my other half adding it to his bill they wont do with me. I guess sprint can do what ever they want to. :irked: I was irritated when I hadnt recieved a notice that it was going up. For a while now even when I called it was still $35.00. THen I just called last week and it was 50.00 but that was not what was charge to my other half he was only charge 35$ :irked: What is up with that??????

I have been to the store they told me to call Lock Line to get it replaced. THey do this all the time. They have the phone instock but they say they can not replace it because I have the insurance on the phone. (typical) I know about the 10$ warrenty because my boyfriend called sprint rep and got one placed with them because lock line said that they wouldn't replace it. Then when we called sprint the usual thing they do and say that we didnt have insurance on the phone said it was taking off it June 4th. Told them we never called to cancel it. Threatened them that we are going to report them to the better business bureau like we did in the pass for fraudulent charges and fraudulent claims they had been making against another phone we had. They go ok go ahead. Then we called a second time to settle this with them they said to me. OH it was deleted but put back on june 5th then said oh we replace it at 10$. Seems funny how you have to make threats u are going to report them to get them jumping on something.

The reason why they don't just take a replacement phone off the shelf and replace it immediately is because they are not refurbished phones like the ones issued by Lockline. Lockline recases the broken phones and fixes the old phones so u get an old phone that has the appearance of being new. I agree it would be better if they had the refurb phones on hand for an immediate replacement. I am guessing it saves them money to keep inventories low. I am not sure who is actually handling the costs of the warranty replacements now. I know its done in store for $10 though.
