I am reposting here as I did not get any responses in the Connectivity area of this forum:

I have not tethered in quite some time (6 months +) and just re-installed the lastest Futuredial Snapdialer and Sanyo VM4500 USB drivers (I reformatted my harddrive so had to reload all software, including Futuredial).

I am getting the following error when attemption to #777:

The connection attempt failed because your computer and the remote computer could not agree on PPP control protocols.

I have not experience this before when using the same program, phone, laptop, etc (about 6 months ago).

Anyone know what I can do to resolve this?

Try to make a new DialUp Networking connection by using the Network Connections option in the Control Panel. Put #777 as the number, and just select the modom which shows up when you plug your phone in. For example, on my PC, it shows up as FutureDial Modem. Leave the username and password field blank.

already tried this...same issue. connection actually establishes...it's after the password/userid verification process successfully finishes when the error message occurs
