Yes, there are a variety of picture frames...don't know what they look like...
and, yes, this phone doesn have the cute little animal icons like on the other Samsung's...

Neither does Sanyo, Nokia, Motorola, Toshiba, LG, or Sony Ericcson...
Well I guess Motorola does on their iDEN networks...

be advised...there is a 'known issue' with games and the MM700. none of the games i purchased for my old 620 (pac man, ms pack, snood, call of duty, tetris) work on the 700. they should, sprint is trying to figure out what is wrong. note also if you have the 700 and you go to the Content area and search for games, none of the aforementioned games show up.
i called about it the other day, and was told to try calling back this weekend for an update.

HMM, havn't heard of people complaining about this before...it probobly has to do with the fact that the A700 is the only current SPCS phone able to support J2ME 2.0 midlets...

As I've mentioned in another thread, The A700 is okay by itself, but good luck getting any games, Java apps, or other accessories to work with it. And Sprint will basically tell you "tough" if you try to exchange the phone.
Be warned, if you want to use any 3rd party apps with this phone, you will be SOL. See my other post on the A700 problems (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?p=445011) for more info.
icsedge1: BTW, when you call Sprint customer service (an oxymoron) back this weeked for the "update", they won't remember what they told you before. I've been there and done that with Sprint customer service.

The processor speed and data xfer rate on the A700 is awesome - if only I didn't have to click on "Receive" (email) multiple times in a row just to view my SMTP mail via Reqwireless' EmailViewer.

the rep knew right away what i was talking about, and i believe she was telling me to call back to see what progress had been made on the issue, which is better than them saying 'uhh...it'll be fixed when it's fixed.' and i did get her to commit to some sort of credit toward news games if these never work. but i need my Snood...i will not be happy if i can't have it.

icsedge1: I'll believe it when you call back on the weekend and they don't give you the runaround.
Sprint store and CSR reps have flat out LIED to me several times lately. Don't believe any of their "promises".
Wishing you the best of luck.
Let me know how things go when you call them back.
Here's yet another thread regarding my experience with Sprint customer service (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51368) Read the whole thread if you have the time...

Samsung has "cute" little animals and faces (cartoons) for incomming calls that you can tag to callers...they will show up on the color external display...
You should get the A700...there is also a "cute" rainbow LED that flashes when you get a call and as a service light...its so cute :)

3rd party apps work for me, and games. I have Splinter Cell and Snood on my A700.
However, I do notice that on 'My SprintPCS' it doesn't list 'Games' in the downloadable content section.
