a little bird just told me that the 7400 is going to be here within the next month for sure, and will ship with 3 face plates. the 5600 will come with a 16MB mini-sd card with the sd adapter so the card can be used in a card reader on your pc, they are also feeling like that handset will make the december launch instead of being delayed till q105.
on another note the samsung a680 is price dropping to 279.99

no news on the lg's, the reason the sanyo's came up is because of the launch of the 7400 happening so soon.

Is it possible that we could add more memory ontop of the 16mb mini sd card to the Sanyo 5600? Where did you get the information that it will be released in December instead of Q1 05?
Of course... take the 16MB card out, and buy a new one of a higher capacity, and put that one in. Simple. As far as his information, he got it from a little bird.

FYI y'all, SD and MiniSD are two different cards.

Those are MiniSDs and the SD adapter to use the cards in a standard SD slot.
If anyone is interested, I have a Fujitsu phone that takes MiniSD cards and will take a few pics of the card and such...

I would love to see the pics of the card showing it's size.
I just found a 512Mb Toshiba card (http://www.flash-memory-store.com/toshiba-512mb-mini-secure-digital.html) for ~$110. With that kind of storage, I hope the phone ships with a native media player to handle playback of full length MP3s (or AACs) without murdering the battery life.

So there is a difference bewteen MiniSD, and Transflash? The mott. V710 through Verizon uses that memory format... And I'm wandering if they are same....

Yes there is - they are two different formats. Transflash is smaller than MiniSD. I really wish Transflash hadnt come along - its just another format that is going to dilute the flash memory field even more. I mean we cant even get phones that even use MiniSD - many Japanese and Korean ones use it. In fact the 5600 will be the first phone outside those market to use it (IIRC, and AWESOME).
grrrr!

Motorola MPx220 released to Best Buy this week for Cingular wireless uses a Mini-SD. As will the MPx (formally the MPx300).

I have a question... With the Sanyo 5600 having a memory card slot does this act also like a sim card? The reason for my question is because I am about to travel over seas and I might become so attatched to my new sanyo the I would want to use it over there. I have a friend that resides in Jamaica and she brought a cingular phone from here and is able to use it there because of the sim card factor. Please let me know.
