no way around it, dumb on sanyo's part. I'm guessing that it's just a small amount that it's draining. If you just got the 4500 I would give it maybe a week and if your not making through the day/night I would probally pick up a exstended battery.

I love Sanyo stuff for sprint they have the best reception ... any ways
I do make it through the day and it has a real good battery life and I do have 2 extra batteries for it + desktop charger to charge them... but it happends that I keep speaking for hours and if I could turn the light off and save some battery it would be great ... it is even bothering at night (sometimes...) it is Too bright...
any other idea!?

I've noticed while sometimes if I receive a text message while already on a call and i don't hit "View" to see the message, just let it sit there.. The screen will go out after a minute or two.

thanx Blitzed... any other info please any one else
The service light will stay on with the flip open. There is no toggle control on the service light, and the main backlight is different then the service light. The main backlight is controlled thru the DISPLAY menu under BACKLIGHT option.

The service light has very little impact on battery life.

Sometimes when you set the back light display to off....when you're on a call, it "sometimes" turn itself off... I don't know how, or understand it myself... but pay attention to it sometimes, because for mines when I'm on a call... it does go off from time to time.
Another simple way is to just use an ear piece and close the flip. this also saves battery life.,.. I think...lol
And if you're worried about power consumption (like if you REALLY, REALLY need to save power)
1. Turn off the blinking LED light (it blinks when you're on a call or get a message)
2. Turn off the Ringer/Vibrate mode (just set the ringer to volume 4)
3. Turn off your keypad light (I suggest only in the daytime though)
4. Turn off your backlight display ( I suggest only in the night time though)
5. Set the outside Display light to Off or 5 Seconds only
6. Set the sleep mode to 30 seconds (so your display screen doesnt go to the screen saver mode and you won't see the doggy playing around as long)
7. Disable Readylink and Vision and don't use speaker phone or camera/camcorder. especially the video light and flash light.
8. In the Roaming menu, set your phone from "Automatic" to "Sprint" so you can't roam on analog and digital (which really pulls battery power)
9. If you're in an area where u know you wont get a signal (i.e. subway, underground, hill area, etc) Turn the phone on Airplane mode or just turn it off.
Hope these simple, but "pain in the butt" steps help you conserve your battery. :eyebrow:

Geez. That's like saying, don't use the phone at all! If yall are concerned about battery life, just pick up the extended battery. You'll be happier in the long run
