I think you're possibly talking about the "My Buddy" on the Sanyo phones. AFAIK, only they have them.

It's called my buddy and is on my Sanyo 8200. It's cute!! You have the option to turn him on or off. Rose

Anyone ever figured Out how to change or make your own My Buddy????

Might be kind of kewl to take the Alien "mi amigo" From the 8100, and it replace the Dog "My Buddy" from the 5500. Also I hear the 5600 and 7400 are getting a penguin......

oh well. I just wanna hack it, and turn it into something kewl...

I don't think My Buddy can be hacked... it's built into the software. My Polar Bear is currently eating a hamburger. :)

hahah yeah ok..... anyways I think that they my buddy is the sweetest thing on my 4500 you can actually make him dance. with the right combination of buttons the dog lays down some pretty nasty stuff. :woohoo:

Haha!!! I never realized that! 8200 does that too. Dancing polar bear... I honestly think someone was just bored in the Sanyo programming dept when the thought up this Buddy thing. :)

I got the 8100 and I so turned the Alien off. A couple friends have the 8200 and the polar bear is much cooler. Also another friend has the 4500 and I like the dog too. I dunno why, just don't care for the alien, wish they did make downloadable "amegos", cause some of the others are much cooler.

I noticed a pumpkinheaded character on my screen a couple times today, maybe it's because halloween is coming? Pretty neat of them to add extra stuff like that. I'd love to keep the pumpkin guy permanantly though.

My 7300 has the dog buddy, which has been wearing the pumpkin head thing at times lately. I do wish I could change him to one of the other phone's buddies.

no, it just randomly appears. sometimes houla-hoop, fish, pumpkin head. rarely ever do i see the birthday cake, but once in a while it is there

You all know that if people were able to download a different buddy, there would be someone with a VirtuaGirl dancing on their phone when they dial numbers. I can't tell if Sayno is smart, evil, or catholic in not letting us download what we want.

It's December 17th and my Polar Bear still has a pumpkin on his head...does anyone know if my buddy should be updated somehow? :eyeroll:

it does look like its all random. like gac said, its almost x-mas and my puppy still puts the pumkin on his head...go fig. it would have been SO cool if they did certain events for certain seasons. with it having a built-in calandar it would have been relatively easy for them to do it.
as far as i know it doesn't look like there's any way to download new buddies. we can try to nag Sanyo to release a Firmware update with these features, but we shouldn't hold our breaths...

I feel what everyone is sayin, it would definately be cool to download new ones err something. I for one can not stand the lil mouse on the 7400. Girls luv it cause its "cute" but i turned that crap off the day i got the phone. lol I like the alien so much better on my 8100. *shrug*

that is what i was thinking.... something along the lines of virtuagirl as the buddy on my phone!!!!!!!!

Yeah I have a Kangaroo. I don't like him much, and I just got the phone. I searched and searched and couldn't find anything about downloadable buddy for this cell. I wish there was, it would be totally SWEET!! Oh well at less now I know its not possible to get a different body.

I had the 8200 which had a polar bear buddy, but when that phone crapped out. So they gave me the 8300. I love the phone but the buddy is a kangaroo. I want my polar bear back. I think it sucks that you aren't able to decide your own character, even if its only at the store. :thought:

Luckily though the 3D looking mouse on my 9000 isn't nearly as creepy as the 7400's rendition of the mouse; so i can deal with him

I had the alien in my 8100 long time ago, it's ugly alright, but it does funny things, lol, it would have been nice if occasionally, it will update itself over the net (having the option to turn it off coz), or mayb multiply and take over the world.

thats awesome that that site has pics of the buddies. we should do a "offical" liste here at sprint users, under the sanyo section....
