***? Why? Did they run out of them? Seemed like a perfect phone!

Is anything else missing?

still in the sprint stores

these are that left and they will continue selling them, but they won't receive more of them, IMO.

I posted this same question on HoFo and was told that it was discontinued.

Frankly, I tried this phone (two of them, in fact) and I had to return them the next day because of their poor signal strength. They would lose the Sprint signal in places where my old-time Samsung 8500s and my new Treo 600 do just fine. Also, I noticed that the phone's signal strength would sometimes fluctuate based on how I held the phone! Way to delicate reception for daily use in a marginal-reception area.

Damn I just ordered mine off ebay. Got it for its nice sleek looks even though its missing a speakerphone and camera which the 8200 has which I almost got. I got a killer deal for it only 100 bucks for almost brand new and hope it does pretty well despite LG's past reputation with Sprint. I did notice that the LCD's on the 5225 tend to bleed alot easier then other phones.

Just how long is the average shelf-life of a new cell phone???
I purchased 2 Samsungs from Verizon 15 mos ago.
I purchased 3 LG5225s 3 mos ago.
Neither are being sold now...............Greg :(

The new LG PM-325, Sanyo MM-7400 and PPC6601 will be released very soon. They are already surfacing at Sprint's intranet as upcoming devices. Usually, they get released within weeks after showing up on the intranet.

dont worry about the accessories, i give you 2 months at most and you will want to use the damn thing for target practice, loss of signal, phone get very hot after 5 min of use, battery is pityful, i reason i had mine so long is a just dont want to buy phones every month, i'm a very patient person and i am now at my breaking point, sprint stopped selling these phone very early for a reason, and if you are within you 14 day return limit take it back, you wont be sorry!!!!!

A friend of mine originally chose this phone. He hated it. It would consistently drop calls or be in roam in the same places where my Nokia would make and hold calls. He lives in an apartment complex and would have to leave his apartment and either walk towards the road, or the pool area to be able to make a call, and even then it usually dropped. I finally convinced him to change phones. He got the Nokia 6225. Now he can sit in his apartment and make calls. As far as this phone goes, it will hold calls in places that both my Sanyo and Samsung would fail.

nokias rule for reception... they're not sexy or fancy and they don't have a lot of bells and whistles but they work!
