I have seen people mention they receive text alerts SMS's from places such as cnn, yahoo, bank, etc. For the more general items (CNN, yahoo), where do people go to signup for these text alert services? I am looking for specific URLs to websites.

Thanks

I use gmail.com, aol.com, yahoo.com, alert.dc.gov...

But just about any site that will email you an alert, can be set up to go to your phone. xxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com (where xxxxxxxxxx is your area code and phone number) is your email address and you can forward emails or text messages there as well. I get many notifications that way.

Yeah, I set the filter to send a copy of all incoming mail to another address. You just choose your phone address. It works great. I have been getting nearly instant notifications.

Ok i did that. and it was working for a bit. but someone emailed me a large file and sprint sent bounced the mail back to gmail. now gmail will not accept the xxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com as the forwarding address. How can i fix this? Sprint says they didn't block it. so it must be gmail. any ideas?

Heres a good one Ive set up a few alerts but now for one I have lost my log in for the news site that is sending me alerts, when I try to access my account It prompts me to enter my account e-mail which is the text message number when they send me the response the message is to long and cuts off right before the password? Has this happened to anyone? If so how did you fix it.
