there was a republican congressman (i don't remember which one) on msnbc last night talking about changing the rules for presidents, removing term limits, allowing naturalized immigrants (like schwarzenegger) to become president, etc, etc. does this guy think he has more insight than the founding fathers? all of these rules are part of checks and balances. designed to keep too much power from accumulating in the hands of one person for too long a period of time. other than that, we can bring back king George III!

Couple of things, here. Term limits on the President only came into law in the 1940s, after FDR was elected to 4 terms. So that law did not come from the founding fathers, it had only been "tradition" that the President not run for more than two terms.

Second, if the Republicans continue to control both houses of Congress and the Presidency, I think they will try to get the immigrant law passed. We've already had a pretend cowboy as President, wouldn't you love to see a pretend action hero??? Who's taken a LOT of steroids in his past??? And who would make Bill Clinton look like a Boy Scout when it came to taking liberties with members of the opposite sex????

I shudder to even consider it....
