Do you meant to tell me that Lockline would replace a Treo 600 with anything other than a Treo 600? I haven't bothered looking at their fine print (BTW, where could I find it?) but does anyone know this to be true? If it is, I'm cancelling my insurance immediately.

Lockline only has to replace your phone with a comparable phone, meaning a phone with the same features. Smartphones are a little different though because they are feauture specific. They will replace your phone with the same model as long as they still have them in stock.

600 are currently being replaced with 600's, if you get a phone missing f/f, just give them call, let them know what is missing and they will gladly reorder another replacement.

300 if available, some even 330's or 500's, keep in mind , lockline can not tell you, this is from what customers have called about.

Is Lock\Line a good company to deal with? Do they treat the customers fairly, don't have shady practices?
Coming from the evil empire of T-Mobile and Asurion, this is kind of important for me. Can you believe that they cancelled my insurance b/c I gave them a guesstimate of the date the damage happened and it was off by 1 DAY! They accused me of trying to comit insurance fraud, mind you I had the service for over 1 year and had not used it yet and that the rep that processed my claim TOLD me to GUESS when the damage happened because it wasn't very important. Given that T-Mobile uses sim cards, the insurance covers that phone that the sim card is in and that day that I guessed the damage happened, the phone I was filing the claim for wasn't being used.

Yes they can. When I made a claim a while ago on my 8100 on that same phone call they told me the 8100's were out of stock and they were placing an order for an 8200... Would someone else please post that you were also told what they were sending you.

Well, they can tell you what they are sending, but that doesn't mean it's what you will receive. My daughter lost her Sanyo 5300, they told me they would send a replacement 5300, but what we actually got was a Samsung VGA1000.

yeah IIRC when I did a claim with Asurion (the evil company t-mobile uses) for my mother's phone they said that they will repalce the phone with X model and if X model wasnt available another model of equal or greater value would be sent instead

yes, lockline is a great co. to deal with, they do everything the coverage cert. or (policy) allows within those terms and conditions to get the cust their replacement. the reason the date is so important is that in the cov. cert. it states you have 60D to call and replace once something happens, 60D get them the method of payment for the ded. once you do call them, then you have 60 D to take possession of the equipment, example on last term is ups delivers, can't deliver and sends back, if you don't call w/i that last 60 D from the ded. being paid to let them know the phone never arrived, the order is non refundable, they don't things like this to get your money or be mean, they care, I feel sorry for every person I have to say sorry , can't do that to, but remember you are dealing with insurance and we have to follow the cov. certificate terms and conditions. we can't pick a date for you, we are not the ones that know what happend to your phones, the main thing is, call when something happens to your phone within that first week and you won't have to worry about trying to guess at a date from a month and half ago. every time I talk to a customer, i have a hard time understanding why they yell, and chew me out when i tell them if they mail a money order it could take 2 weeks to get a phone, if they pay with a credit card, it could take up to 3 BD and that is if those phones are not on back order. if your phone is that important to you that you can't wait 3 bd for a replacement , why in the world are you waiting almost two months, and some cases even longer to finally call and get it replaced, it must have not been to important? Rams, I hope this answers some of your questions and I apologized for being a little long winded, but most of the time I try to be thorough, don't hesitate to send me a private msg, I will answer as long as you accept my answers. As I posted in another thread, I am here to educate and help, not make my job harder than it already can be at times.

as far as knowing what phones are availabel, they don't. on some occasions as of lately with 5500's, we get the ok from sprint to offer a diff. replacement because of the demand of that particular model. for the csr that told you you were getting an 8200 for the 8100, I personally like to walk up and smack him in the back of the head. if you got an 8200, you lucked out. he/she was probably going off of what other customers had called and said they received. this is the only thing you should be hearing. ((( I AM PLACING AN ORDER FOR A RECONDITIONED (YOUR MODEL), IF THAT PHONE IS NOT IN STOCK AT THE FULLFILLMENT CENTER, YOU WILL BE ISSUED A PHONE OF LIKE KIND AND QUALITY AND IT WILL CARRY A 12 MONTH SPRINT WARRANTY) hint...if you hear this , you will prob get diff. m/m, if so and missing functions and features, simply calmly call them and advise what f/f are missing and they will reorder another replacement for your original model not missing those f/f, don't try telling them it had something it doesn't tho because they know. if you hear the above without the if not available part, then you are prob. going to receive same m/m.
lockline csr's are not supposed to give m/m's because of the headaches it causes when the cust. gets something diff. than what they have been told.

p.s.
missing f/f that are not cosmetic, they WILL NOT send you another phone because it is a diff make or model, size, or color. cosmetic features are not a reason for a reorder. Ladies that receive the 7200 for the 4900, sorry but that is the way it is.
