Does anyone have any old codes for Unlimited SMS or Old Vision Plans. I lost my Unlimited SMS when I changed phones and the rep tricked me into 2 months free of vision. The local Store Rep said she would add it for me, if she had the codes, but she wasn't able to find any.

Does anyone have any of thse codes??

(The codes I am talking about are the codes that Sprint enters into their computer to get that certain feature on your account).

Thanks in advance! :)

I had a grandfathered plan, with unlimited SMS. When I tried the free 2 months for Ready Link, they changed my plan and I given 100 text messages per month. When I checked my usage when my bill came out, I was ticked! I called 2 reps, who said I never had unlimited SMS, and finally asked to talk to a supervisor. She looked and changed me back. It can be done! Just need to talk to someone high enough who can do it for you.

[B]UPDATE: If you have "grandfathered" Vision aka an Old Vision Plan. all you have to do is call Customer Care and ask for what Vision code you have. They should give it to you without any trouble. My Sprint Rep looked through a few accounts and could only find newer Vision codes.

The Old Codes are still active (but are not listed), if you have an older code it will work with the old vision plan.

I will pay $20.00 for anyone successfully able to get me the code for the older Vision Plan with either Unlimited SMS or $10.00 Vision.

Well from my experience once the rl trial breaks the vision codes giving you unlimited sms free you are truly screwed.....I lost my unlimited texting on 2 lines and I have been forced to pay for it....ever since because I use it. So my advice is to not do the rl trial if you dont want your sms screwed up......We discussed this about 3 months ago after I discovered why my sms was changed.....alot of people had the same thing happen only one person got his corrected....that I know of. Sprint reps will tell you it never existed and when I have them look up the one line that still has it they say it was a free trial when that phone was activated.....bull**** that phone wasnt a rl phone so it never had the rl vision activated on it

I called and talked to a Supervisor and they offered me 50% off my next bill because of the mess. there was NOTHING he could do to get my Unlimited SMS back for free.

I got 50% off my next bill for a similar issue. They tried to give me free pcs to pcs, but that code is now gone unless you add a line! Crazy stuff going on...

I just had this happen about 2 weeks ago. After reading through the forums deciding on what I should do, I called Sprint and a Rep just acccessed the old system to get the codes. (That's what he said he did) and said that he fixed everything. I'll find out when my next bill comes out.

I told the guy that I have one plan with two phones. One phone had unlimted text messaging and one didn't. I told him that it just didn't make sense why one would have unlimited text messaing and one didn't.

I was offered $10/AAP, but I told the rep I'll take that if they can give me 7pm and unlimited SMS. Plus, I'll renew for another 2-years. Still, no go. I guess Sprint isn't that desperate to go find the lost codes for a renewal.

I had old premium w/ $10 credit for downloads, I was on an multiline accnt. and changed it over to share with other two lines, when changed, i spoke with cs to have all innovative services stay the same. I never paid much attention to my bills, and this month I noticed i'm being charged 7.50 for picture pack, mind u i have the 2300 w/ no camera. When I called and asked csr what happened he said he wasn't sure, and couldnot change to premium pack or give 10 credit, THOUGH, one of the other lines that share plan has premium with $10 credit. Can it be changed back to they way it was, do I just need to keep hanging up until someone will do it???

I went through the whole fiasco of losing my free pic mail on my grandfathered vision (which included unlimited SMS) when I bought a new phone. I called in and a cs agent changed my plan to the $10 Vision/Pic mail saying that everything should be the same. I really didn't believe her so I called in the next day to find out that I got Pics back but now only had 100 SMS.

I ended up speaking to someone in exec services and she was able to reverse the change back to my old grandfathered vision w/ UL SMS. She said that as long as its within a 48 hour period the system allows them to revert back to what was on the plan. (True?) As for my pic mail, thats another story. Lost that with my ESN swap, and there was nothing they could do. They ended up giving me free 7pm to cover the $5 cost for Pics.

I believe they can revert back if it is done right away. I was having problems with my vision service and even though I told the rep not to do anything to my vision plan he apparently wanted to give me a better vision plan or at least what he thought was a better one so he changed my plan from $15 with unlimited sms, pics, $5 credit to $10 without the credit and only 100 sms. Even though he said it was the same I didn't believe him at all and called right back and confirmed that I lost unlimited sms. However she was able to unexpire my old vision code since I had called back right away. She said if I had waited she would have not been able to bring it back.

Sprint ought to just fix the system so that it supports more old grandfathered vision codes. You figure, if all the execs take a 10% pay cut across the board, you know how much more they can invest back into the company to make plans better and the system work better???

As the plans get worse, the system gets slower and more difficult to use, the customer service gets outsourced, the execs of the company get richer!

this is lame.

let's get this straight. let's say it's code ZL2.

What are you going to do? Call Sprint and say yes, hello, i would like code ZL2.

Then the Sprint rep will gasp, cover his/her mouth, and give you free powervision and a PPC-6700..because you cracked the system.

people looking to cheat the system are lame. you didn't earn grandfathered vision, why do you want it? pay for your plan. jesus.

Maybe you should tell this to all the Corporate wads who get to have THE HIGH END Sprint phones for FREE while the little boys and girls like me and Jim have to pay out our booties for them. That's not fair now is it?
These Corporate wads make more than you and I put together, and yet they get FREE phones?

They didn't earn a free phone, did they? How about all the Corporations and employees who get FREE/Discounted Sprint service? Did they earn free Sprint service? NO! Maybe they should pay for their phone and plan like we do. GAWD!

I'm all for the customers getting good deals, and if it includes little tips or tricks here and there, good for us! It's not hurintg Sprints bottom line A DIME. If giving away FREE phones to company A and B-Z, doesn't hurt them, then we sure as hell won't make a scratch!
What does hurt Sprints bottom line is their lame duck CS that they seem to think is the greatest. They are dropping customers like a bird in the air drops ****!

Besides, if CSR's are giving the SOC/Activation codes out, then they are the ones cheating the system/breaking their NDA, not us! I have every code on my account now. I never knew it was illegal to obtain a code.

Sprint will remain a Billion dollar Company longer than you and I will be alive!

You don't get it...if I give you the old code ZL2 there is strong possibility it CANNOT be added to an account. Its not that someone isn't going to do it, its just that its not possible with the account software, P2K or not. It checks that **** and tells you if code ZL2 is expired in CSA 1D10TS253.

So how would YOU know what the "Wads" have earned and not earned ? Maybe you can go to college, work your way up the corporate ladder, and get your "free" phone too instead of looking for a free ride or the next scam. But while you are at it, why not complain about all the perks that retirees get just for being old, and let's not forget about food stamps...another well earned perk I might add. Damn, let's get rid of Social Security too. Those damned working class people are just scamming you youngsters. Go get them ! You earned it, right?
I just love it when someone thinks that they deserve every break that anyone else is getting, whether they deserve it or not.

I might be wrong but I dont think they ( the txt alerts) are free. The free included AIM is confusing to me. Its free but it asks for a monthy fee of $3 or $4. But if I go in through the portal to get to AIM its free. What gives?

Well I just went back and forth with CS because I bought a new phone outrignt and since it was powervision I had to change to a PV plan and lost my free text messages. Their explination is it was included in the old vision plan but not the PV plans. Doesn't seem fair to me especially since the PV plans are $5-$10 more than the old vision plans. So now I have no free text on one line, another still with unlimited and another with 100 free. It is all very confusing.

All you have to do is register your account at an address with poor/no EVDO coverage...

I had absolutely no problem continuing my use of $15/vision + $5 premium content + free unlimited picture/video/SMS/VoiceSMS/etc...

Ask for advanced tech support... they will do it relatively quick...

I'm having the same issue now!

Both a friend and I had the same phone and plan on the old Vision plan. We both upgraded to a Treo 700p within a week of each other and both asked if our plans would stay the same. Both said yes. My next bill came out with a 50 dollar charge for text messaging while his plan remained the same.

I've called and they've lied to me that there was no way to maintain that original plan. One CS rep asked me what the other phone number was and was dumbfounded. Another CS rep said he wasn't allowed to look at other phone numbers. CS Rep 1 tells me that plan is never available to me again. CS Rep 2 says I can go back to the old plan if I go back to my old phone.

So I've lost my included Text Messaging, and they are trying to have me sign a 1 year contract for 300 Text Messages. How is this fair when I never agreed to a change in my plan and even asked if my plan would change? Who do I need to call/send chocolates to/e-mail to have my Text Messaging tacked back onto my account?

What do I need to do

JY1
03-09-2007, 07:15 PM
Join the club - It sucks doesn't it! I even told them I don't get powervision at my home billing address but it didn't help. Again they offered me 300 text messages for $5.00 and I said that I was a bit upset since I use to get unlimited. You'd think they would offer you something like 100 free just to be nice but noooooo.

03-13-2007, 09:33 PM
Yup, this is why, you CANNOT activate in-store... if you read the forums, you know why.

You can't even let most telephone reps do it... They are real nice about it... You just have to keep mentioning you have a special plan, and nothing can be added or removed... only an ESN swap... I had them write the notes on my account, just as a little added help even...

never been given any grief over keeping my old vision...

JY1
03-14-2007, 07:52 AM
Well I did exsactly that and it did not matter. I bought the phone outright and did an esn swap and all seemed fine except after a week or so my picture mail account said it was going to be deleted so I called CS to see why. They told me it was because the new phone was using PowerVision and I needed to upgrade to it. Kind of like putting a gun to my head since I did not want to loose my pix account and all the pix. Also, on my first bill there was a data charge of about $40. I called CS about it and they said it was from using the phone to send and receive pix before the Power Vision account was added. In other words, while still on my old vision plan after the esn swap. They did credit me for that charge but as stated I lost the unlimited text I had with the old plan. :irked:

How old was your vision? Was it truly one of the grandfathered ones from before December 2003? If not, then you may have had different codes... Our visions were the ones way-back-when we got SMS, then videomail for free...

Mine specifically is $15/mo with $5 premium content that I just use on calltones.

Well basically there's nothing you can do... except when you are switching, to tell them you DO NOT want anything other than an ESN swap... I even made a point to tell them that they could not use their normal system, and would have to log into the older one...

yep and i have the old vision plan with unlimited text... the thing is that it has to be added or corrected before the new billing cycle

littlebeancurd

After getting a new phone - switching from a Treo 650 to a 700p - they seem to have created a mes with my plan. I previously had the original $10 Vision access with SMS included. During the ESN swap, I asked if anything would be changed or lost and the representative assured me nothing would change.

Later that month, the next bill left me with a heft $42 Text Messaging charge. I changed to the same exact phone on another plan I manage and the billing remained the same. Over three billing cycles later and numerous calls, they refused to give me back my previous plan and refused to do anything besides credit me for the Text Messaging charges. During the 3rd cycle later, the representative added $15 Unlimited Text Messaging to my account without telling me.

After more laborious calls, I was referred to the cancellations department and was told they had little to no options available to me. They understood that it was unfair that I lost portions of my package, but could only say that it happened because I purchased a new phone. They eventually were able to give me Unlimited Texting for $10 with no contract. All the other codes she found had some sort of contract involved.

I'm moderately upset that they changed my plan twice without any sort of agreement on my part. Everytime I asked them to show me something I signed or recording made that expresses my agreeing to a change in service, they were silent for a moment.

So now, I'm paying an additional $10/month for Unlimited Text Messaging - even though I had it as part of my package before. They apparently had no other codes available for Text Messaging that didn't require a contract. Does anyone know who I should contact to dispute this sort of issue? I've mostly come to accept that I'm paying more money now, but I'd at least like to express my concern over what i'm finding to be incosistent and sometimes shady business practices.

<sigh>

I ran into the same thing.

I had: Grandfathered $10 Unlimited Vision (they took away the picturemail) and 400min for $29.99 a month.

Sadly, I tried a ESN swap at the store (did not read the forms 1st, my mistake), they told me that my OLD VOICE plan could not be transfered nor could the Vision plan (because of PV).

First they tried to place me on the 200min $29 plan with PAM - Would not go through
Second they tried the new $39 plan with PAM - went through but they had to 'call' to check the coding. That 'call' switched me to a $59 unlimited data WITHOUT VOICE!

After discovering that, two calls later they got me back to 200min $29 voice and $39 PAM. Not sure what it includes.

That was last Saturday (1 week ago).

They swore up and down (and even the advanced tech support on the phone told me) that I could not have my old plan/vision back on the new 8400 phone.

Yeah, you just have to TELL THEM you need to use the P2K system... you can avoid all this by asking for advanced Tech Support when you call in... they have access to this, as regular CSRs usually don't/won't use it...

The advanced techs are more than willing to do an ESN swap, and I've never been charged either... I'm on my second EVDO phone with my GFV
