Is the $40 retention plan the cheapest currently offered, or are they $35 ones also? Just curious.

I currently am sitting at a 750 minute plan for $35/mo. This also includes pcs/pcs, 50-minutes of roaming, unl n/w @ 7pm.

about 6 mo's ago, i received an email from sprint thanking me for my loyalty and they offered me what is down in my signature. My guess is that is realistically what you could get from them.

I believe you're being ripped off... LoL I think they offer 400 minutes for 35 dollars.

Dude, that plan is what they offered me too! What a rip! I told them nah, that's okay.

They really wanted me to commit, so I said, how about 300 base + 450 any time minutes? They gave me that, and that's how I got my $30/mo plan with $5/mo for the nights/weekends at 7pm.

How then did it get to be 31.50?

also the no longer add 450 extra mins, that must have been a LONG time ago. Like at least 2 years.

I have the $40 plan that has 750 mins, n/w at 8, free M 2 M, until recently had the 20 dollar Ready link addon with Unlimited SMS built into the plan now stuck paying 5 bucks (but got two months till that kicks in). plus roadside for 3 bucks. but it all comes out to like 49 or so after taxes.

Sprint Loyalty discount 5%

Corporate Discount 25%

so it isn't hurting too bad to pay for the SMS.

Been with sprint since 98 when they introduced their system here in town with the $75 got 1,500 mins FIMF.

They threw in 10% off $35/mo = $31.50/mo.

can you prove this? you dont really hear about the bottom of the spectrum retention plans ever.....if you can back up your claim with someone who has a RECENT retention plan for 35 better than mine that would be super.

have a good day

EDIT:
by the way, i was only required to sign a contract that extended my term for ONE year from the date i accepted. Since this was offered to me by email (i didnt call up and ask for anything) when I was about exactly a year into my contract, it extended my first contract by 3 days. Willingness to commit to a longer term (ie 2 years) might be able to give you some leverage.

Although this is not a $35/mo plan, this year (2004), just a few months ago, I was offered the 2,000 minute plan for 5 of my phones on my account. For $125/5-phones, it gave the following features:

2,000 any time minutes (shared)
unlimited nights/weekends @ 7pm
pcs/pcs
vision free on the first line
unlimited free sms on the first line
unlimited picture mail on the first line
5% discount
Total of 5-lines .... $118.75/mo

per phone that comes out to $23.75/mo.

Not bad, but I would have committed for another 2-years (4-year commitment) if they would take off another 25% per month and a $50 credit per month on this shared plan. Maybe throw in some free phones and 10% more minutes. Sprint said that they couldn't do more than 2-years. Oh, okay!

i understand that there are plans that work out better, but that is not what i was saying... NoClones made the statement that i was getting ripped off with the plan that i was offered...i was asking for him to prove it. I wasnt disputing the fact that there were plans for more than 35 that break down to less than that per month.

There is a $30 retention plan that is floating around somewhere that provides 300 base minutes plus some sort of package bonus minutes (120, 150, 180), but I don't know if still available. The $40 for 750 is quite common tho. My friend just got it. Sure, that's $5 above the $35 plan that you were looking for, but it gives a lot more minutes.

On my second line, I have 20 base minutes plus 180 bonus minutes, bringing the total to 200 any time minutes plus the unlimited pcs/pcs. Not bad for $20 - 10% off or $19/mo.

I get 300 peak / night and weekend at 8pm for $30.

Me too... 300 peak plus a 60 additional re-occuring overage bucket... $10/vision/unlim sms/pic mail... $5 - f&c america... n&w @ 8pm...tried for the 7 back when it came out, so many reps tried but they wouldnt do it without a 2 yr... finally one rep said how bout free 8pm... hah it was funny cause a few months earlier they said no to 8pm n&w...

my contract is coming up in nov...be interesting to see what kinda offers i can get... i've never in my life outlived a contract w/out changing my plan or renewing or something so im curious...i'd probably do a 2 yr for 1000 anytime... unlim n&w @ 7pm (i'd pay the $5 extra)...thing is i barely ever go over my 300 peak, so it'd be mostly wasted min... i wish sprint had rollover, i'd be at like 5,000 peak min this month :-P

Same here. Actually, I didn't even ask for the plan. I called on a seperate issue and the rep said I was eligible for it. So I grabbed it. Later, I added 7P for $5 more. Hmm...$35/mth for 7P vs. 9P? No brainer. :D

I called 3 days into my contract and said I didn't need the $45 plan, i'll never use that many minutes. They said for $30 I could get 300 peak / night and weekends at 8. I was like 'sure!' because I was gonna get the same thing for $35, but nights at 9. So for $5 less I get better nights and weekends :D

UL PCS-to-PCS
$30 a month + 5% discount on top of that

Have two phones with the above plan on my account.

I think it's pretty good. What do you think?

I offered to Sprint if they dittoed my plan on line 1 exactly, I would add another line of service. Commit for 2-years. Waive activation fee. Sprint said no. Given that information, I would say that you did well.

My friend was going to sign up with Sprint, but he wanted a $20/mo plan. He called Sprint and they offered 20-minute for $20/mo plan. $1/minute? That's like calling a 1-900 number!!!

Where are the days when Sprint offered 200 minutes for $20? Throw in pcs/pcs for free for a 2-year commitment. 10-cents a minute, okay. $1/minute not okay.

my mother was offered last month by verizon an area wide plan that was 100 min for 20 bucks (she was on an 7 year old 50 minute for 9 bucks plan)

She went pre-paid at that point.....

300 anytime minutes in ur base plane... like sprints plans start out 300 minutes, 500 minutes... 800 minutes etc... then retention reps are adding buckets of minutes... or different plans with additional minutes of like 120, 300, 500 whatever...

like my plan is 300 anytime base...with a bucket of 60 additional anytime that rollover month to month...(yea i got jipped) it's nice for overage though...
