I can get $10 credit on my account for each line. I have 2 lines, so I get $20 credit. I don't know if you get $10 credit per line for more than 3 lines, but I know that you can get $10 credit per line for 2.

that's if you actually drop calls.....it's not for lowering your bill

^ as mentioned above this is if you actually drop calls. I think someone might notice if all of a sudden you have 20 dropped call credits in a period of 30 minutes or so where you just sit there requesting credits just so you can lower your bill. Theres more legit ways to lower your bill. Like finding people and referring them to sprintpcs service and getting a $20 credit that way. If you have more than one line you can use a referral credit on each line....

Really ! People take advantage of a good thing and abuse it. Then in the end, those who use it correctly get punished...

hey its life huh...we should do what Verizon does...when someone complains about dropped calls they tell the customer the handset must be defective because their precious network is the best
LoL... If Verizon didn't want a 500 dep for me I think I'd give them a try. Since they claim NC (Where I live) is 99% covered... I travel though, so not sure how other states are.

You have to think of the possibility of some people keeping a log then requesting credit at one specific time all at once, instead of doing it on-the-fly when they actually receive a dropped call, right then and there.

I just end up getting all my dropped call credit at one time. I always forget to call as soon as i drop the call because I always end up having to call the person back and then i forget to get the credit at that time.

That is a good point. Maybe they should wait till the end of the day to report them rather than the end of the month to do it all at once :)
I don't care what people do, I just hope sprint doesn't get rid of it because I use it for what it was intended and I'm sure other people do too.

i agree...it should not be taken away because the system can tell whether you dropped a call or not. At least that is what I have been told. Plus I drop way more than 20 calls a month sometimes. I get good service but there are some areas that become spotty.
Ok This May Sound Stupid But Is A Dropped Call Just When You Lose Your Signal During A Call?

yeah...when your phone says "signal faded" or such

My phone knows when a call was dropped or not as I am sure Sprint knows this as well.
Funny how Sprint (and others) don't automatically credit you when they KNOW that the connection was dropped.
If we are going to talk about user abuse (us), lets put out the entire picture. These companys are no saint. For every false credit given at the request of a person, how many legitamite dropped calls dont get credit in the entire network?
I think we have one too many Sprint empoyees here... :hee:

And we got 1 too many "lets blame the big man for our own follies" on this board as well...seriously, if you are having so many problems with Sprint, why stay with them? I always wonder why those who have the most problems just dont leave? I mean, if you want service in your house, and Company X has it, why didnt you choose them?

good greif, charlie brown. is it really that hard to call for the dropped call credit? besides, it's a gimme - they are crediting you at the highest rate possible for the airtime 50 cents credit. so what if you had to call the person back, the airtime is still the same. if they really wanted to play hardball they could just credit you for a minute of airtime - as it is they are crediting your bill for minutes that, in some cases, would not have been used otherwise (see poll about what % of your minutes do you use)!

Is there a new equivalent to this? I used to use it but stopped because we must have gotten a new tower or something in our area...I had no need for it for a year or so.
Recently I've been getting a number of dropped calls but to my surprise, it's not where it used to be in the menus. I remember being able to dial *3 or *4 (it wasn't *2..pretty sure) and being able to just say "Dropped Call" and they'd credit you.
Now the menu's aren't voice activated.
ANyone know?

Man this is almost 4 years old. The new system gives you 2 anytime minutes for every dropped call
Dan
05-18-2008, 05:49 PM
Yep, no more cash credits :)
No need to give cash that the customer doesn't actually pay, and it stops everyone who used it as a way to "save 10 bucks per line off my bill."

So how do you claim those two minutes? It can't happen automagically? Can it?

No it does not happen automatically unfortunantly. But you will have to dial *2, and tell Claire "Dropped Call", she will confirm "You said you wanted a credit for a dropped call. Is that correct", you say "Yes", and she will say "We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. We have credited your account 2 minutes of airtime for this. Thank you for choosing Sprint have a nice day". And there ya have it. The two minutes will be used after you use all your anytime minutes.

Yeeep. No more cash credits for dropped calls. We have courtesy minutes now. Well, Sprint just ought to go out and build more cell towers ... maybe one at every light pole so technically, there won't be an excuse for any dropped calls!

It's actually a better way of doing things. Example: You drop a call, get that 50 cent credit but go ovr your minutes by one minute on a fair and flex plan. It costs you $5 for that one minute that sprint gave you 50 cents for.
