The only other one that I know of that works on your phone is Req wireless.

i've downloaded the trial version and its seems ok, although the trial verison is very limited so you can't really test it. i wouldn't mind paying for a 3rd party browser, however $20 is a rip. i'll just stick to my built in browser for now.

Req Wireless is well worth the $20. I put it on all four of my MM A700's and everyone uses it instead of the built in browser. It makes your phone really feel like a functioning laptop in the palm of your hand.

$20 isn't that bad, it's not like they are charging you every month, it's only a one time charge.

Agreed. I've used it for quite some time (along with their EmailViewer program). Both are very much worth the money. I've key-exchanged many times and the programs have both performed admirably on every phone I've used them on.
It would be nice, however, if WebViewer had WAP support, too, rather than telling you to shut down and use your regular browser for that. Other than that one gripe, the programs are excellent. Highly recommended!

Their emailviewer program is well worth $20. It can not only view HTML mail (and some attachments) but it can follow embedded like to real web pages.

Basically it's a full HTML browser like you have on your PC. It can render graphics, tables, forms, etc. You can scroll a line at a time or a pixel row at a time, and view images full-size. There's also OCR so you can convert text within an image to actual viewable text. The browser has full bookmarking capability, too.

Hey, i know this thread is super old, but question:
could I use it to go to a link of a (large) image & scroll it, like this traffic map
Heres the link for google maps http://wap.mgmaps.com This the link for pocketweb. http://tlogic.de/wap

Does PocketWeb work for anyone? I downloaded the trial, but it doesn't do anything for my Toshiba VM4050. I can enter a URL and I get "Waiting for reply," but then the screen just goes blank.

Well i'm using pocketweb right now and I can see the map but I cannot scroll. Incidentally there is google map application for cellphones.
Hm. what about the Req wireless...
Google maps is cool, but I'm looking specifically for traffic maps.
Reqwireless is no longer selling webviewer. Although it is still possibile to purchase it from handango.
I'd be cautious about buying any Reqwireless product. They mysteriously pulled their message boards offline a few months back, took most of the content off their site, began claiming the site was being upgraded and would be back shortly, stopped responding to e-mails, and recently they very quietly added to their FAQ that their products are "no longer offered."
Ordinarily I wouldn't say exercise caution, however, Reqwireless' products do not connect to the Internet directly. Instead, they utilize a Reqwireless-operated proxy server (in Canada, BTW), so if Reqwireless goes away, so does the product's functionality!
Such a shame, too, because it was a darn good product.
A suggestion: Head over to Blackberry Forums, www.blackberryforums.com. They have a thread somewhere over there which provides a link to download either of two different versions of the Opera Mini browser, or whatever it's called. It'll work on any J2ME device, not just the Blackberry. You may want to try that.
I paid a visit to the opera website and they say that the opera mini browser is only available in Norway as part of a trial they intend to distribute it more widely later. Incidently reqwireless servers are not working as reliably as before, I began to get a lot of errors.

Yeah, you can't get it directly from their web site. There is a link to download the application directly over at BBforums. I'll see if I can dig it up.
...I see I need to update my profile to Blackberry 7250, not MM-A800.
...What the heck does "SU$: $8" mean??? It was $2 earlier today...
You get SU$ for every post and thread that you make you get even more for refering someone. There's a thread about it here somewhere.

Opera Mini (low-memory version) almost works on my Toshiba VM4050. Unfortunately, when I hit "Meny" to try to bring up the menu that, presumably, will eventually let me switch to English, the application blows up.
Does anyone have Opera Mini working properly on the VM4050?
I couldn't even get the download link to work. No error codes nothing.

It should be available from www.getjar.com.
Do a Key Exchange at http://www.reqwireless.com/keyex (since the keys can only be used once, this will get you a fresh one) and you're all set.

And this is no exception. :(
On the VM4050, WebViewer tickles the infamous 35KB bug. In other words, WebViewer tries to download all of a Web page's text and images in one request; but Sprint's server only responds with the first 35KB of data. So typically, WebViewer displays all the text but only some of the images on each Web page. This wouldn't be so bad if the images were just eye candy, but unfortunately many images are essential to functionality (e.g., button labels).
Nevertheless, WebViewer is sometimes useful on the VM4050.
I only wish PocketWeb would work on the VM4050. Apparently, PocketWeb is designed to request only packets of data (e.g., 5KB, 10KB, or 20KB) at a time, hence it would circumvent the VM4050's 35KB bug. But for some reason, PocketWeb just doesn't work at all on the VM4050, at least for me.

What is the best browser for the Treo 650? I'm looking to get 2 (one for the wife) and I want to make sure that it's optimized as she will be using it for her business (she's a real estate Broker).
Also, any new purchase plans with the 650 (rebates and such)? The cost of 2 is going to KILL ME!! :bang: and I want to get the best deal for my $$.
I'm a city employee and the nextel plan I have SUCKS!! :irked: I can get a better plan from Sprint MORE DATA minutes for less $$ and save more than 50% on my bill each month.
