It's the AEZSUP-S750 or for short the S750 for Orange. Unfortunately it looks to be a gsm phone, but has a USIM card? It's the slider phone with video call capability that we saw a few years back as a concept.

Um, last time I checked, Sanyo has an exclusivity agreement with Sprint.
Not to bash the theory it might be a GSM phone, but, it stands to reason that they can't make a phone in the U.S. for anyone except Sprint. Right?
It looks like a PPC or Palm OS type of phone. Interesting. . .

Looks like a SUP-S750. Made for Orange, probably in Europe only.

But a phone need not be submitted to the FCC for use abroad...so, if it's on Orange in Europe, who the hell is going to carry it here?
As I said before, Sanyo doesn't make GSM phones for the U.S. market...
Either it's going to Sprint or Sanyo has gotten out of its exclusivity agreement with Sprint and is bringing that device to a GSM carrier here in the states. Otherwise, why submit it for approval by the FCC?

well, it had a european charger that they showed with it so it definately isn't a US phone for now..

I like the fact that sanyo is exclusive to sprint, but the sanyo 8100 was released for both Qwest and Bell mobility. I guess Qwest was acceptable because they use our network? and Bell mobility because they are based in Canada?

Sprint let those networks use it. Part of the agreement with that, is they have the option for vision on the phone. So Sprint can still make some money on those users.

Just out of curiosity, what is the reasoning for the agreement? I'm afraid I do not understand.

They may have to submit if it is a GSM phone to be used by travelers that come here. The phone looks to be sold under "Orange" a european group and maybe carried to other places from there. I doubt it will be sold here unless it is something that will be redone to sell here in a few years.

Yeah. ^ That's what I have come to understand in the past 24 hours. The world phone thing is still a new concept to me. My bad.

Mmm... If Sanyo would make a EV-DO / CDMA version of this phone, I think I could forget about the 5600...
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/11/30/sanyo_3g_s750_launch/
Bluetooth, 1.3mp camera, mp3, SD card slot... excellent. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens with Sprint's next gen high speed network.
