Hi I work for RadioShack, and yesterday when I was doing an upgrade for a customer, I asked the Rep over the phone about the Release date on the MM 7400, she put me on hold to go check. When she came back she informed me it would be availible Monday!

Now usually I don't trust any sprint person the phone, but she was very helpful, hell she gave my customer 5% off on her plan just signing a 2year agreement and upgrading to a VGA 1000. So I was wondering if anyone has heard anything similiar. I really want this phone though I might get the 5600, instead. I 'm not sure. So I guess what I'm asking is, what are the release dates for both phones, as well as their differences in specs.

Thanks, any specs on 5600? I hear it's going to be megapixel and the 7400 is not. Thats kind of lame, i thought the 7400 was just going to be a ruggedized 5600. Like 7300 is for the 5400. (yeah I know the 7300 has SMS and the 5400 doesn't)

I don't think it's a rugged 5600. The impression I get is that the 7400 is a marriage of the 8000 and 7000 series, so it's intended to be mid-level rather than a high-end phone.

I'll bet it will be worth picking up.

So it's more like a rugged 5500? with MM

Yeah, but with changeable faceplates.

If you have a Samsung vga1000 now (I have used one), you will definitely like the 7400 quite a bit more. If I didn't have a 5500, I would definitely look to get this phone.

I have a 5500, now. Should I get the 7400? I mean I can sell the 5500, and still get it to pay for most of the 7400. (I think I'm going to ERP my current 5500, so I get one thats a little newer to sell)

I don't know that I would give up a 5500 for it, as I haven't used it.
But, from what I understand, it rocks and the multimedia features are great.
If you want to try something different, newer, then get the 7400.
Oh, bleh, I misread your first post...customer has sammy, not you. Doh.
I think you'll be torn once you get a chance to play with one...
And Monday wouldn't surprise me, BTW.

Why is that a tsk tsk? My 5500 has scratches and dents. I'll get it replaced, and then I buy a new phone for full price. I can do what I want with my own, old phone. I don't have a contract, and I won't have one. Also I get MM for free. As well as RL and Vision. I wanna try this MM out.

If you get one, do let us know what you think of it.
I have a feeling you'll really like it.

if's its a damaged phone then there's nothing wrong with using ERP... maybe they'll even send you the new MM phone you want

I saw the 7400 already it resembles the 7300, however it has a red faceplate, I'm guessing you can select the color just like the 8200, I work for sprint and the director of the area is testing out the phone.

No, it's silver with changeable faceplates, a la the Nokia phones.

From what I've seen, it looks, well, like a Sanyo...lol.

I'm not sure what you mean...could you elaborate? I dunno if I'll be able to answer, though, but, we'll see.
