I am surprised that more real info has not made it out yet. There are normaly FCC photos by now but so far nothing much. There are a lot of us waiting for this phone and all we have is a drawing and a photoshop made phone. Well, maybe soon.

Just going based off of the past, it seems that Sanyo phones are FCC approved and are released about 1-2 months afterwards.

Yeah, just like the 5500! It was released without any info, until DF@WORK said something was coming! The 5500 took me by surprise! Plus the MM-A700 was a covert deal also? I happened to see it at sprintpcs.com one morning and posted a thread on it! But not much info was released until that point?

The silver one seems to be more like what the 5600 will look like when it comes out.

That is a joke someone posted on here (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43983&page=7&pp=15). It's a photoshopped 8200. the first pic with the watermark on it is what the phone may end up looking like.

Ive heard and read that the 5600 is the combination of the 7300 and the 8200. Its suppose to have a duragrip on the side and the camera(as well as flash) should be near the hendges of the phone(similar to the 8100) rather then near the earpiece(like the 8200). The phone should have everything sprint has to offer when it comes to features and services.

No. The phone you are referring to is the 7400. The 5600 will have that and more (minus teh kung-fu grip).

Yeah, one thing that I wonder is? What type of memory card will the 5600 use (a question from another member as well) and will it be a SPCS store only thing or will the memory cards be a standard one that can be bought else where ie. CC?

Knowing them it'll prob be one that's unique to the phone. LoL

I don't think Sanyo would go with a propietary format, it's not like they are Sony or something. My guess would be a standard MMC.

And what does that mean? How many propietary formats has Sanyo had in it's phones (in the U.S. or in Japan)?

I'm just assuming that it'll be a less common or phone specific card. Nothing standard, just a guess. That way in the long run they can make more money.

Since they use the SD memory cards in their new camcorders, I would think that they would use them in the phones too. Since the cards fit into a slot that is pre-fabricated to form and fit the SD cards, as well as infrastructure to read the cards, I think they would use the same suppliers and fit the same materials into the phone as well.

the silver one is not the 5600 and is fake.
The black one is more official and what the phone will most likely look like if not very close.
that being said I will also say that the looks are disappointing.

There are always illustrated pictures of phones floating around before the real ones ever get seen. The pic of the 5600 is a very likely possibility of what it should look like. The pic of the real (actually, a dummy phone) 7400 did match the illustrated one, if you've ever seen it.
I would venture to guess that the phones will use the MiniSD standard for memory cards. Reason being that Sanyo's Japanese phones use that format and besides, as small as it may be, a regular SD is probably too big for a phone.

Not true, the Motorola MPx200 used an SD slot, and it was a pefect size.

It was a opinionated statement, more than anything. the MPx200 isn't your typical phone, though. And it was somewhat big. I still stand behind what I say becuase of Sanyo's use of that standard in its other phones.
At least it's not like the Moto V710, which required its own proprietary TransFlash card and reader.

To me it's sheer asininity to harp over a phone that a carrier doesn't provide. If it was something I wanted that bad, I would leave Sprint. It's really simple to do..........

Oh my goodness that phone has a video out plug. Absolutly rediculous. This is America land of the huge SUVs and double whoppers, why don't we have the sickest phones? (I know why but I'm complaining anyway)

hm, so to sum it up and not to directly compare two phones but it is good to compare what many consider the best phone on american market right now to the similiar 5600
it comes down to that the 5600 has a 240x320 qvga screen over the moto and the moto has bt over the 5600, the rest is the same.
is the 5600 a 2.2" screen or bigger? i kind of remember somehitn about 2.4" unless that was another phone.
Also a sprint store rep told me a "next gen" moto phone coming out in Jan for sprint.
does anyone know anything about this adn that will interesting to see how it competes with the 5600 which we dont have any solid date on do we?

Lets get some facts strait...
there is NO evidence of a 'next gerneration" motorola phone.
You are extremely annoying bring up QVGA 2.2" screens into everysingle discussion.
