I am very very short on cash and was looking to cutr some of my bills down and wanted to drop the Vision feature from my phone but i like ringtones and games and was wondering if I payed the $20 for a link cable thing to my pc do you know if you can send the files from the pc to the phone that way instead of using vision? (My phone is the Sanyo PM-8200)
from what little i know, ya - you should be able to transfer from computer to phone. i don't think you can transfer qcp though? you also need bitpm for your computer.

Sup Steve,
I too have the PM-8200. And I went out to Radioshack and picked up a data cable. Works great for ringtones and wallpaper (screensavers). If you get a cable get Bitpim (http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/) it's free and it supports qcp files.
But over all for what you are looking for is a great move to save you some $$. Plus it's great that you can save your phone book on your computer just incase you lose it on your phone. Also it's easier to add some one using your computer. Because I can type on a keyboard faster then I can using a phone keypad.
Hope this info helps,

If you buy the FutureDial Cable, where do you get the drivers? I have an PM-8200 as well.
Also, can you save money and buy the USB cables on eBay (i.e. the non-future dial ones), or are they not the same?
Thanks.
Marc
Too Bad BitPM doesn't have an import tool (from Outlook contacts, etc).

BitPim doesn't import the Outlook calendar (yet), but it does import Outlook contacts with phone numbers and email addresses.

This is the same drivers I used for my PM-8200 Just make sure you use the right driver for what Windows OS you have
