Wish I could figure out how to change the MP3's to QCPs though. I've tried using the QCP recorder, but all it records is silence. Can't seem to figure out how to get the MP3 player to feed in to the software. Do I need a mic or something to do this?

I can change the sounds to qcp and post them for you but like NoClones said you cannot change the RL sound unless you plan on using the Nextel alerts for something else (ringtone, txt msg alert, etc.)

Sure, send it to your phone. Turn it into an M4A file.

Use this software to turn sound files into M4A: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm

Use the AUDIO EDITOR program to manipulate the sound files, make ringers out of MP3 files, make volume louder, lower, etc:
http://www.mp3towav.org/mp3-edit-audio-effects.asp

once you have transformed the WAVs into M4A, use FOCUS to upload to your phone.

Hey.. just tried the focus tool for the first time, and it works great! Thanks for the nextel beeps... I noticed that the tones have about an 8 second leader on the end of them, but I can trim that down. :)

It turns out the nextel beep wasn't what I was looking for. I really wanted the Boost Mobile chirp.

Turns out that's a REALLY hard sound to find. I searched the internet for half a day looking for it.

I finally found a rap song that had the chirp in it and cut it out.

Here it is in mp4 format...

Thanks..great chirp. I Usually like songs but it is nice to have a quiet chirp for text messenging..
