The ringer on my 680 stopped working. It only vibrates when set on vibrate only and on high+vibrate. All other levels you won't no that you have a call unless you happen to see the screen flashing. When you try to adjust the voicemail alarm volume, that is silent as well. The calendar alarm and the alarm clock don't work also. The only sounds that work are when you open and close the phone, the sound when you adjust the volume with the side key, and the key pad. Anyone ever had this problem with a phone? Is it fixable at the Sprint store. If not would that be covered under the warranty because i dont have insurance?

if there is no user damage on the phone, it should be covered...just make sure you point that out on the tech ticket

What do you mean by user damage? I have some nicks and scratches on it.

Ok. Cool. Thanks Deval.
I just got back from the sprint store because my 680's ringer is going out. They said it's a known problem and they had to order me a new one because they're out of stock. Anyone know if there's a newer hardware version of the 680 like they had with the 4500\5500?

The A680 ringer issue sounds like a serious problem as many others have reported this as well. I'm wondering is Samsung needs to make some hardware changes on this phone.

Only thing Samsung needs to hardware update on the A680 is the speaker.

How loud to you usually set the ringer?
I usually keep the ringer on my A600 around Level 5 or 6 because above that sounds like it is stressing the speaker. If I do a monophonic one then I'll go up to High+Vibe for a car trip or something.
I just wondered if this happens to people who don't max out the ringer (not that you shouldn't be able to).

The A680's ringer is a little lower than our A600/620's...

i usually have mine set at level 6 and monophonic and a lot of the time it's on vibrate.
