You're probably hearing about the old vision plan, not a new one. For about a yr. after vision was released it was $10.

Do they really have a $5 vision plan or are you just trying to get me excited?

5 dollars was only for the "Wireless Web" access. This applied to 2G phones such as the LG 5250 and LG 4NE1, etc. The Wireless Web is mostly text and very limited images and quite frankly is out of date. When I got my new LG 5350 at the time, Vision was only 5 bucks more, which amounted to 10 dollars. (WHICH I PAY NOW TILL THIS DAY ;P)
So, yup... you can call them and ask them. But I hope they don't laugh in your face...

That's grandfathered as well. When they released the 5300 there were still no $15 vision plans, so they just added picture mail on for free.

I got an email about 2 months ago offering the $5 vision plan BUT the catch was that it only included 1MB!!!!
I called yesterday for unrelated issues and was OFFERED ten dollar vision with no changes to my contract credits or pictures. This was amazing because my call had nothing to do with my plan or payments.

Sprint just started a new thing.. for people that call in to cancel vision services that are 15$ per month with the 100text,unlim web and pictures, and cred for DLs.... its a save 10$ unlim vision and i think the 100text....the 5$ for vision is for the additional lines on a family shared plan..

I just switched to a Vision phone and they upgraded my old $5 Wireless Web plan to the Vision plan for an extra $5 a month (so $10 a month for vision). It didn't come easy, I had to put the squeeze on them but they finally caved =)
Hmmm odd because i asked for 10 dollar vision about 4 months ago when i got my new phone. It has unlimited vision and picture mail with 100 text messages. Just no download credit.

It's two different offers that are essentially the same thing. There's the old $10 Vision that was used for business accounts and retention offers, which is plain old vision.
Now they're actually beginning to offer that as a "Vision Pack". It's called the Vision Access Pack, and includes Unlimited Vision and 100 txt msg for $10. Same thing, different name.

maybe thats the reason why i keep getting text messages and a post card from sprint regarding signing up for picture mail for an additional $5. I had the $15 premium vision pack w/ $10 d/l credits but sprint just switched me backed to the picture vision pack (w/o my knowledge) but it's ok since i haven't d/l anything from sprint's website in a while and the text messages state my picture mail will be disabled by 10/01/04 if i dont acknowledge and accept the additional $5 charge. maybe i'll only then be charged $10 for vision in the future since i won't accept it for now ...

I just got a PM-8200 which was an upgrade from my 4900...I am on a retention plan with $5 Wireless Web...whats the difference between that and vision? Is it worth it for me to upgrade to vision?
My current plan is:
$50 1000-anytime, 2000-N/W, FIMF
$5 Wireless Web
$10 Ready Link(I just added that when I got my 8200)

In fact I just went to my account on Sprint to look at the charges and it says I have PCS Vision Pictures Pack for $10. I was offered it when I had called a while back for another matter she offered it to me and said the only thing I wouldn't have was the credit for downloads. I haven't downloaded anything from their site in such a long time.

I had the 4900 and had 10 dollar vision I don't think there was 5 dollar wireless web was there? I have the old vision plan where my shortmail was unlimited so I was grandfathered in to unlimited text messaging when I got my 8200. I also was asked if I wanted to add the picture mail for 5 bucks saying mine was going to expire but I never got charged. So for 10 bucks I get unlimited vision text messaging and picture mail. I love it!! I will never change my plan. I don't get on the web much But I use Googles new SMS alot to get phone numbers and I text message some and send pictures. I love Sprint!! I just gave my friend my 4900 cause her Samsung flip broke. I loved the 4900. Great battery and reception. But I wanted a change so I got a flip and chose the 8200 I like it. Rose

Of course. I still have it on my QCP-6035. Going from $5 a month to $15 a month for Internet access on my phone is a little steep. $10 a month would be OK if I didn't have to switch my phone plan from $30/300/8PM to $35/300/9PM just to be eligible for Vision. I refuse to pay more per month for less service :( Sometimes I think I'm going to be stuck with the 6035 and the old WW forever.

HORRAY! Just called in and got the Vision Access Pack added! :) :) He was like "normally we can't do this very easily" "I will call you in two months when your trial picture pack runs out" "you can only get $10 vision if you CANCEL a picture pack." I was nice but very persistent and he finally did it for me. He also have me free 7pm night and weekends. Score!

if you have a camera phone and were offered the unlimited vision for $10, you should have been offered the package w/ picture mail. Unfortunately, the rep wasn't sure of the offer being made. So many customers didn't like paying the extra $5 for vision when the price increased from $10 - $15 (people who dropped it and then added it back) and included the download credit that they brought the $10 vision package back as a save offer. There is a $10 vision plan and a $10 picture mail plan, both including unlimited vision usage and 100 text messages.

This is my problem too... i have a Samsung a460, i would like to upgrade to a newer phone (since i have been with them for over 18 months and can get the rebate, btw is this instant?) BUT i have wireless web for $5... i still want data because i use AIM on my mobile a lot yet i DO NOT want to pay $15 a month just for data, it's insane. I also have unlimited short mail (i.e. SMS, since the a460 was around at the time Sprint didn't have SMS service)
I'm thinking about calling and saying i'll sign for another two years. (why not, my mom's add a line is stuck for two years anyway) if i can get the instant rebate on a new phone, Vision service for the same price i pay now for data, and unlimited SMS. I would like pic mail but can do without the monthly credits. With luck i can crack a deal. (Tho i'm on a retention plan, but not because i was trying to cancel, i wanted to ADD service (add a line, but only have 300 min) and just wanted to pay the extra fee for the extra line.)
Do you think i'm being reasonable with them? Data service + pics and my text messages for $10? If i have unlimited text now, why would i GIVE IT UP for more money? (ya i know it's not REALLY text, but same time).

You can use 10 dollar vision with the 8200 but not the 5 dollar wireless web. I don't know how the wireless web worked. I owned an old Sanyo SCP4500 1st Sprint phone I owned. I did a switch from 7-8 years of Verizon with 3 or 4 of there phones. Someone one at work had this Sprint speaker phone and I wanted it. Someone else I work with still has this old phone. Anyway when It was time for my 18 months I got the 4900 and had 10 dollar unlimited vision and shortmail also. When I went to the 8200 since I had unlimited shortmail I was grandfathered into unlimited text messaging. I got a note on my phone saying my picture mail expired and that it was going to be 5 bucks.
I got the 8200 cause I wanted a change from the 4900 (flip phone) I didn't care about the camera but then started using it and liking it and was sending pics to someone on Sprint. So I decide what's 5 more bucks Iget my discount so it would probably amount to 3 bucks or so. But I never have gotten charged for it and was grandfathered into that also. I didn't expect to cause I didn't have a camera phone before. But the Text Messaging I was expecting that since I had unlimited SM before. I am also on a retention plan only because I added my friend to my account and she decided to stay with her current company cause they offered her more then Sprint counter offered with a better plan and said I could have it to. I wasn't expecting it. So I will always stay with Sprint and keep this plan. I just may update my phone every couple years. But I like the 8200 so far. But no the rebate after 18 months isn't instant it's mail in. But my friend was unhappy with problems from an old Samsung phone and I called for him to cancel cause he found a better deal elsewhere and they offered him an instant 150 credit on his bill plus a retention plan based on how many minutes he used a month. So call and find out see what you can get. I hear it depends on who you talk to. Rose

My girlfriend just sent me a Picture mail. I called her and asked her how she did that considering she did not have Vision. She told me she called and got "internet access" for $5 per month. She doesn't know whether it's vision, or what exactly the Plan is called. I used to have the $5 wireless web. I thought that was gone, until I just heard this from my girlfriend. So what am I getting for $15 per month, that she doesn't get for $5? The ability to upload pictures to the website?

i've got you all beat. 5$ picture pack with unlimited everything except only 100 texts a month and no video mail. i also get the 5 dollar credit for downloads so i'm pretty much getting picture pack for free. and no the main line on the account does not have vision my line is the only one w/ vision. and i got it about 5 months ago.

Well can you have picture mail for just 5 bucks and not have vision? I don't know. Maybe for 5 bucks she can send and receieve pictures but I don't know if she can get on the web and do vision included in that 5 bucks. Maybe she got lucky and got a good deal. Rose

There is a option for $5 where you can send pictures unlimited, NO VISION. Don't ask me how but I ended up with $5 unlimited vision unlimited picture mail and $10 credit towards downloads on secondary line with no vision, no picture mail on the primary, I think I got this as a result of the many unhappy calls when I lost unl. text messages as a result of aap. My experience is if you KEEP calling, KEEP complaining, this may take a 100 calls to do but they will give you the keys to the sprint palace.

yeah keep in mind that the $5 Pictures access does NOT include vision, so, if I'm not mistaken, she gets charged data usage for sending the pics
