Well, one of those codes allows you to change your CDMA mode... You need your MSL code though :(

I'll help.

The NAM is the Number Assignment Module. If a phone is dual-NAM, you can have two different phone numbers you switch between.

If you screw up the settings, it's kinda like doing something stupid that lands you in the emergency room. The doc (Sprint rep in the store) is going to look at it and say "How on earth did you do that?" ....as your face gets progressively redder and you beg 'em to fix it.

Kinda reminds me of the punchline to a kid's song "That's what you get for jumpin' on the bed!"

----> What I *really* liked was the "Unknown Code" at the bottom of the list. "OOOOh! I can't wait to find out what that one does!" Bzzzzt!

The ##25327 will allow a user to alter the authentication key aka token to the picture mail server! It should only be changed with Tech Support advice cuz changing it will affect your phone's access to pic mail! The ##4682 code didn't do anything to the browser when I turned it on? So, this code is a mystery to me too!

That means that when your weather channel applet expires after using it a month, just delete it, hit ##5282277 and you can use it another month.... If you don;t want it to expire, put the phone in airplane mode, set the date a couple years into the future, then run it, and then close it. That sets the first run day far into the future. The Weather App, only checks if it has been 30 days since you first ran it. This way it will work for years :)

Most of the codes llisted work for many of the new Sanyo phones, however, most of them don't really do anything after your phone has activated. The ones that actually change phone settings are basically just a way to make changes without using the menu system. All in all, they are pretty useless.

there was a way to set the time and date on my 5500 i think, but i cant find it on the 7400. if you find it, just change your service to analog or go to a place with no signal before you try, otherwise sprint will just fix your time and date. then after you set the time and date, run the application for the first time. try setting the date to like 2006, maybe you will get a year of use that way. also, just make sure you give it no internet access when you run it...at least for the first time.
who knows, maybe it iwll work

Unfortunately, no. Because of the "breathing" phenomenon of CDMA cells, calls can drop even while standing perfectly still. Indeed, this is my sister-in-law's primary complaint with her new Sprint service. Her old TDMA/analog phone never dropped a call in the middle of her living room the way her new VM4050 does. :(

Of course, Sprint in the Chicago area is reportedly still running that decrepit Motorola equipment.

it's tricky to do on the 7400, restore your factory games, then turn on airplane mode, then turn off the power on the phone and back on again (should be in airplane mode when it comes on again) now goto calendar it will ask you to set date and time (set date into the future), now goto the apps/games and run them (but don't allow them to access the net) exit them, now turn airplane mode off, you should be good to go

THX! Yea i figured it out this morning when i was playing with it. I used Alarm Clock from the Tools/Extras menu instead of calendar, but same thing.. Airplane ON, Phone OFF, Phone ON, Alarm Clock->date/time. Cool! It doesnt seem to work for me on the 7400 but I did it on my GF's 8200 too :) 1475 days before it expires lol. Well i figured something out on the 7400 with BitPim.. doesnt really help much since we have the ##5282277# code anyway, but in the FileSystem->data->brew->applications->bottom folder (000##), before you first run a program there is no "dir.dat" file and "rms_1.db" then after you run it once, those files show up. So I assume delete those two files and you will reset the program again.

Only the 5300 does ##clear (##25327), the other phones just go to settings -> Security ->lock code for phone (last four of phone number unless changed) -> reset pictures, or reset picture token, either way it will give a confirmation message about reseting the pictures account.

Most of those codes are just hard programmed versions of stuff that can be done in the menu. It's kinda like typing in a file path on the computer instead of clicking on an icon. However, a few of those can make changes to the actual way your phone uses service, and not in a good way.

*18 and *180 can really screw up your roaming settings. there was some talk a year or two ago about it "locking" onto the nearest tower, but in reality it reset you ability to roam (or something along those lines).

in other words, use at your peril.

Hmm, I can't get the ##8463 code to work on my 8100.

Software Version 1.114SP

When I hit OK, I get the menu, DOWN highlights the Save Phone#...

Hitting Talk gives me a recorded "Number you are calling..."

Does any one know if there is such a code that will actually let you free some integrated memory? These freak manufacurers all have some genius that knows!! Like there is a code for the LG PM325 to enable the speaker phone, strangely enough, that Sprint made them disable!! I know they have a code for everything, just a matter of getting lucky and having a disgruntled emp leak it. :bang: Wish we could be so lucky!!

Where do you enter these codes i have tried everything and why is there plus signs in between them?

Blue-666-Devil

you put them in how you would dial someone's number (555-555-1234, that sorta thing)
oh, and, press # instead of ok+down key+ok, ok?

Hey everyone,
Does anyone know exactly what *18 or *180 does?....I have the Rl4920 w/a roaming plan and travel to MI alot....the phone doesn't have settings for digital roam only and there is no Sprint svc. up here....we have other digital/analog service, but the problem is, the phone just picks whatever one it wants and sometimes thats the analog! I don't understand why because the digital service is really strong and works great, but when it switches to analog, you can't even answer a call! (not to mention just ringing a few times about kills the battery!)......I was just wondering if anyone knows a way to kick this thing in to digital roam manually?

Thanks in advance!,

from my experience when dealing with *18, it only does things when your calls are going directly to voicemail, and *18 usually fixes it. if not, you have to call the voice problem help desk. i have not seen it do anything adverse though.

I am not aware of anyway to put it in digital roam only. some of the new phones have a roam only option (meaning not just analog).

hope this helps a little

Hi

I was "playing around" with the Navigating codes for Opera Mini, Sunday, for awhile. The codes are:

#,1 = Enter URL
#,2 = View bookmarks
#,3 = Go to start of main content, or beginning and end of page
#,4 = Go to start (portal) page
#,5 = History
#,6 = Page information
#,7 = Save bookmark
#,8 = Edit settings
#,9 = Web search
#,0 = Reload
#,# = Navigate forward
*: = Toggle display of toolbars (if available)

Since yesterday, (Monday), when I try to use WebViewer or Opera Mini, they seem to be [in a] frozen or locked up state when awaiting a reply?
Other Vision applications all work normally.

I think that maybe I messed something up by entering the above codes, numerous times, and got those two apps locked up, so in your opinion, is there some way to restore the functionallity of these apps, without having to delete/restore them, huh?

Picture Token: ##25327

is how your clear your pic token out of your phone. ALL THAT IS FOR is if or when you get a pic error you type that in and it resets your pic acct on your phone. DOES NOT DELETE pics just clears your password so you will need to enter it in again.

The picture token will clear and reset your pic acct. Don't use this unless a vision specialist tells you to. i.e. If you just got your phone and you can't send or recieve pics. I haven't had to use the other one.

don't know if this has been answered because i don't have enough time to read through 11 pages in a post.

##25327 stands for clear or clear token. Which will not reset your picture account, that is stored on the network! it resets the password associated with your mdn and nai and other info to authenticate your pic account. Good for solving error 86 on some older pda's and c1 error's mainly.

##786 also known as ##rtn. The mother reset. goodbye contacts, pics, settings, everything. also good for solving errors such as java not loading, music store not loading, and a buttlooad of other errors. I don't suggest doing this on your own, becuase this is the last step when all account, network and other device t/s has been accomplished.

:thought: It's all so Mysterous. WE all love a mystery, unless we are the only one that doesn't know the answer. Wow sometimes I can sound so mature, just like I have a clue.

is ##786 a sprint thing or phone brand thing? it worked on my samsunga500 and just tried it on my 5500 and it works. the only thing i would use it for is to reset the phone when selling it. i had brought my a500 to be reset when i upgraded to the 5500 and they didnt do it right. half the stuff was still on the phone. so i did it myself. i had the msl from a service order receipt from having the sw/prl updated. i just had the 5500 updated and they didnt give me any receipt or invoice showing the work was done. but this time i'll fully check the phone before actually leaving the store to confirm they will have reset everything to default so i can sell it

Would anyone happen to know if and how to brighten the keypad on the 8100? It was dim when I got it two years ago...and it's much dimmer now! Thanks!
