Right then. Hit your upper right "Soft" key (which may appear to be only the abc/Abc/ABC, e.g. text mode key) and choose "next" or whatever it says
Edit; nevermind backatcha
ALSO, for everybody; you might get an error after you SEND an e-mail; however, the e-mail was sent. I've already tested it. So just "back" out of the error.

However, they came up with a new access at www.gmailwireless.com for the pc and wap.gmailwireless.com for the phone, the latter of which I can't make work. It's all beta, something will work out; For now, the old way works :D I'd love to kill the time zone requirement tho

Do not under any circumstances use this service! This is not a Gmail service. This is a program that someone developed to relay info from Gmail through a server on a computer to your phone. This is really intended for personal use not a Gmail wap site. Someone has set this up on there own computer and is passing it off as a Gmail offering. I used it once and since then someone has been using it to send emails to people, my sentmail is full of all kinds of crap. I changed my password, you all should too. The guy that is doing this knows your password and can see all your mail. Please beware!

I'm sorry I just don't buy it. They guy does alot of projects for wireless access and browsers in general, and he wouldn't have time to go use your e-mail. There was some kind of glitch; somehow two people got the same e-mail address or something.
Anyway, I'm going to write him with what you said and see what he has to say about it. The problem I'm having is that if it wasn't him (or some wierd "e-mail address thief") then we'll cause unnecessary panic. I fully intend to use this wireless access until Gmail comes up with their own, and that could be a long way off.
How bout we all email wap@google.com and request an official gmail wireless...? :D

It's Google Mail - you can read more about it here: http://gmail.google.com
It is still web-based (i.e. use your browser) and uses a unique layout to sort and store your emails. You also get a gig of space to store your stuff - 1,000 megs.
If you're interested in trying it out, just find someone around here who has a gmail invite they can offer you. The site isn't open to the public yet, you have to be invited by someone who is already a member to be able to sign up. There is a thread running on SprintUsers right now with people who are offering invites.

Being that it was not a gmail address and not on their servers, and also being the project is on sourceforge, then that means it's not a "public" thing. so in other words, if you go to a "gmail wap site" and enter your info, you are basically giving them your account. If you have the know-how and want to do this, I suggest putting this up on your own servers (as I will be trying out)
Please be careful people!!

Gmail does pop3 access now, so if you can find a way to access pop3 on your phone, you can use that.
www.reqwireless.com has a downloadable email client (it's java) for your phone. it's like $20 or something.
jh101_7
12-15-2004, 10:25 AM
the reqwireless email client works great, you have to input all of the settings found on the gmail help page for pop access. and for the your personal settings enable pop and choose "keep gmail's copy". if you select the "trash gmail's copy" gmail will delete any message you read on your phone. so you'll have to dig them from the trash folder.
the settings for the java client:
for the protocol choose "secure pop3"
under advanced set the pop port to "995"
under smtp set choose "secure smtp" and port "465"

i got it to pull up the mail but it'd be nice if it showed the mail in reverse chronological order, meaning new email from today then yesterday and so forth. It was doing the opposite and I couldn't see an option to change it.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
