Having just returned from a vacation in the Sunapee - Charlestown and Concord area, NH area, I'm reporting what I found for service area (in spite of what Sprint CS told me before the trip). I had my phone set for Sprint Only while my Wife's phone is set for Automatic.
- On the North edge of Lake Sunapee, we got 4 bars continually and were able to use all services.
- On Guild Rd in Newport, NH we were only able to get Analog Roaming.
- In Contoocook, NH we had solid Sprint Digital signals and used it extensively to find each other in the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds.
- Concord, NH was solid Sprint Digital signals, even inside a brick building with a metal roof (Everett Arena).
- Full coverage from MA state line on Rte. 3 (Nashua area) to I-93 to I-89 (to X12) with no discernible gaps in Sprint Digital coverage.
- In the Sunapee to Charlestown trek the coverage dropped off (I only checked the phone with Sprint Only selected). I had good Sprint Digital service in Claremont (even inside a big retail store), but it dropped off to NO Sprint Digital service in Charlestown (at a park along the river separating NH from VT).
Before I left I spent some time on the phone with Sprint CS to find out what to expect for service. I was told that there was NO Sprint service within 10 miles of the North edge of Lake Sunapee! Turns out not to be true (their maps may be out of date . . . she did check for me). In fact I was told that the last 20 miles or so on I-89 had no Sprint service (she said that roaming may be possible). So what I found out was very different from what I had been told to expect, all to the good!
BTW, my friend who lives up there has NO coverage with AT&T and is disgusted. I gave him a referral to Sprint, but warned him that some areas really have no coverage (or Roaming only).
Hope this info is useful to some folks who travel/vacation in that area.
