Sprint is offering "Sprint Unlimited at Home" for residential long distance if you are a customer of Sprint PCS Service. $15 a month (plus taxes). Sprint Unlimited at Home includes unlimited domestic long distance calling from your home phone on State-to-State calls, In-state calls and Local toll calls (where available). Sprint Unlimited at Home with International Calling is $18 per month (there may be some additional surcharges on this plan).
Naturally there are some fine print details which could cause Sprint to give you a boot to the head if you abuse the plan.
The offer is good through 1/1/05 and you get a $25 Sprint PCS credit if you sign up by 8/29/04.
The deal is good for old and new customers and you can even have existing Sprint LD service at home.

I love this ,I live in a place were everything out of this little town is long distance call and my long distance is around $250.00 a month and I hate it ,When they offered it to me I really questioned it , it was to good to be true , so we will see how they bill comes out .

obviously something like this seems to good to be true with a landline phone company.. if you really make that many calls each month, going with a broadband company like Vonage or the New ATT may be a good deal.

I currently Get Unlimited Local & Long Distance with my Landline provider for $19.99 a month. I get all the kewl little features like Call-Waiting, 3-way, VM, Call Forwarding, Caller ID, ETC.

Like I said I will see what my bill says , I went on the sprint websight and set up a account so I could see how I was set up for longdistance and I was able to see every number we have called so far I have not got billed yet and I love this , I can call my sister in Honlulu and talk for awhile yessssss.So when my bill does come I will save some major mulla .

I noticed in the fine print that customers can have only one line per account. When I switched to Sprint Unlimited at Home I already had two lines on my account. Mine and my 88 year old mother-in-law's line. It will be interesting to see my first month's Sprint Unlimited at Home bill.
If providers like SW Bell have $20 a month unlimited with call waiting they can keep it. I hate call waiting.

But each account may only have one line. That means that my extra line will incur an extra $15 a month. The Sprint CSR never told me that. :mad:

This is a suck deal. Get the cell phone and use it for long distance. Cancel the long distance on your landline and save $15/mo. It's just a sleazy way to get $15/mo from people who found a way to pay $0. Does the Sprint plan cover the intralata calls you make the most? Most long distance carriers don't. The phone companies killed their LD cash cow and now they want some back.

It's actually not a suck deal for people that don't want their long distance to come off their Sprint minutes, and don't want to wait until their free time to make their calls. Many local Sprint stores also offer a 50 minute free, 7cents/ minute package that has no other monthly charge for home lines. It's good for light users, and people that only make a few long distance calls don't even get a charge.

It's a great deal if you do a lot of long distance from home. My first month, I think I had around 900 minutes and have averaged 600-800 minutes and no problems thusfar (2 daughters away at college). I live in a marginal cell coverage area so sometimes I have to roam and other times I get the "signal faded" message and lose the call. A landline does have its advanatges sometimes.

Just to let everyone know I got my bill today, and it was prorated and it was $11.90 .yahooooooooooo!!!ANd I added it up and it would have been 45.00 just for part of the month .

My first "$15" bill arrived. Added to the $15 monthly recurring charge was an added "Carrier Cost Recovery Charge" of a dollar in the other credits and charges section. Actually the "Carrier Cost Recovery Charge" was 99 cents but close enough. But there's more adders. In the "Taxes/Reg. Related Chgs." Sprint added "Carrrier Universal Svc Chg" + "Oklahoma High Cost Fund" + "Federal Excise Tax" + "City Sales Tax" + "County Sales Tax" + "State Sales Tax" plus the LD charges before I made the switch at 10 cents a minute for in-state and 7 cents a minute for state-to-state.
So far my previous Sprint 50 minute free plan was cheaper than the Srpint Unlimited at Home Plan. :rolleyes:

I just signed up for the Sprint unlimited at home plan, and it does not include unlimited local & long distance, just unlimited long distance (unlimited local is $10 a month extra). Did I get the wrong plan, or is that how it is supposed to be, also do you get a discount on your Sprint Pcs service whe you have Sprint home service?

Also, the "discounted rates" they quoted me were not very good.

Suliman - Thanks. It's very difficult getting information from Sprint customer service. One rep told me both Canada and Europe (unlimited calls) were included in this plan. Another rep told me only Canada was included. A third rep confirmed what you've stated.
I currently have the 50 free minutes with Sprint and pay 3.00 for the international calling discounts, which actually gives me better international rates than what's offered in the $18 unlimited (national & international) plan, at least with the countries I want to call. Does anyone know of any other discount international calling plans that might be worth checking out?

ur idea is as old as whenthe plan 1st came out .. all u do it just cancel and go back in and keep doing it and get service ammount credits on the account.

I think the .99 Carrier Cost Recovery Charge is also charged with 50 minute free plan. How much did all the taxes and fees come to (on top of the $15)?

Does anyone know of any other discount international calling plans that might be worth checking out?If you have high speed internet (cable or DSL) you might check getting a VOIP line. I pay $20 a month for unlimited US and Canadian calling, and other international calls are very reasonable. Check http://www.packet8.net, http://www.vonage.com, http://www.broadvoice.com (and there are lots more out there). - sheureka
