Hey, thanks to this message forum I've learned so much about PCS and cell phone content. As thanks I'd like to share with everyone my site that I've made of Voice Ringers (that I learned how to make myself from info here :D ) and Images. The images are all 120x144 for the Sanyo 8100. Everything here has been tested with the 8100 and I do have some friends that have the Sanyo 8200 and seems like they work with that too. If there's any problems just let me know, this will help me make a more practical site.

nice!! does it cost to download your ringers and screensavers? i know this isn't a request line, but since you have the know-how, can you do "sweet home alabama" and "from this moment" by shania twain?

I love your site! I tried 3 images and 2 of them came through great. However, gaypride keeps giving me an error message (907, I think) saying that there was a server error. I tried it a number of times. Can you fix this? Thanks so much for this great site.

Oh, sorry about the confusion. the page isn't written to be a WAB (wirelessly acessed) site. Its meant to be browsed on a computer. When you click on those links its supposed to open stuff in a new frame, which of course the phone doesn't have. if you access it on your comptuer and then send to your phone, it should be fine.

Ah, yup. I tried it and got the same thing. I changed the compression rate of the JPG and re-uploaded it and it seems to work fine now, so try it again.

Does anyone have any info on these 907 errors. I've had several of my own image downloads do this, but I'm not sure why. Usually if i change the compression and redo they're fine, but don't know what messes them up in the first place.

I think I know why the "invalid descriptor" problem is happening; I think your make/model phone uses a slightly different MIME discriptor for JPG's and ringers. In theory all I have to do is add the exact discriptions that your phone needs to my server. but first i gotta find out what the discriptor is. Any other developers here? Maybe I can find something on the page from the guy that wrote the focus uploader. As soon as i figure it out, i'll let you know.

thats what i did, went to the site via my computer, and sent the ringers via text message and it doesn't work.

The thread that talks the most about the 907 error is here http://forum.sprintusers.com/showthread.php?t=43619

The list of all errors (including 907 and how it relates to the 400 level errors) is listed here http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38328&highlight=907

The other threads I found about this error were closed by the administrator before anyone knowledgable could respond. Personally, I think that it is a problem with this particular image file because I downloaded 2 other image files from your site without a problem (so your server and uploader are ok). Is this image the same size (dimension-wise) as the others for the 8100 so that it fits the screen properly? My phone seems to download it and then reject it (and, yes, I have plenty of available memory on my phone and downloaded another image from you after this particular one was rejected). I really want this image because it looks better than similar ones on other sites. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, especially the error code list, awesome.
I agree, it is definatley something to do wiht the file; just not sure yet what initially causes it. my experiacne was the same as yours, it downloads it then has the error. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with dimensions, because it was 120x144 and i've also downloaded other sizes just fine. I have re-compressed the file and uploaded it and it and it worked on my phone now. Have you tried it agian? you'll have to resend yourself the link (just go to the website again and send it again), because i changed the file names to avoid any problems with sprint's caching. let me know either way, so I know if the fixed it or not.

I believe it does, but i cannot say for sure (if anyone else knows for sure, please jump in). one of the easies ways to see is either to go to the offical Sprint content site and see if they list voice ringers (they'll only show content based on what your phone can handel) or just try downloading one from my site and try it. the worst that will happen is you download it then it'll say that it can't play it and you'll just have to delete it off your phone, it won't hurt anything.

I've been adding new stuff fairly regularly.

Ok, I'm very pleased to annonce that I have found the problem with my site not working with Samsung phones (if anyone is interested in the solution, drop me a line). I have updated all my gcd files appropriately and uploaded them to the site. In theory they should all work now for all phones....but..... I know Sprint is pretty aggresive with thier caching of files (i'm had troubles with it in the past, updates not taking effect) so even though I've fixed it, i'm not sure if the changes have/will take effect. If anyone with a samsung phone can try to download anythign from my site and let me know, that would be GREATLY appreciated.
The link is http://geocities.com/donblay/sprint/
Hope this works, if not I'm gonna have to rename about 300+ files to get around sprints caching...ugh.
Thanks

I need your help. I have been trying to find the theme music for Trunks (American version) that was played on the Garlic Jr. saga as a preview to his arrival. All it was was a live beat with someone whispering 'Trunks' while showing clips of his fight with Freiza and him saying a little bit mainly yelling. I have posted this request many times in the past all over this site with no luck and I read in this thread to ask you for hard to get stuff so if you can get this for me it would be great. But before you start searching let me tell you this, you WILL find alot of the japanese Dragonball music and some of them say"Trunks Theme" so be sure that it is the American Trunks Trailer. Man I hope you follow DBZ I am shocked at the lack of other fans on this site. Thanks in advance.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more.
