I am happy with the gray one on this page:

Eforcity also sells through eBay. I was able to get it more cheaply that way.
I presume you realize that the Toshiba VM4050 is also known as the Audiovox CDM-9950.

Do you have the leather or the mesh? Does it accomodate an extended battery?

Actually, I have both the silver leather and the powder-blue mesh (because they were so cheap on eBay), but I decided that powder-blue isn't masculine enough. :)
The leather case (and presumably also the mesh case) will accommodate an extended battery if you cut a hole for the outside camera button (the button below the up/down volume buttons). You must cut this hole, otherwise the phone will detect the button as continually held down. Even then, this is initially a tight squeeze (with an extended battery), but over time the leather stretches slightly.
Try Factory Direct Cellilar:

I have the horizontal leather executive case & think it's the best cell phone case I've ever had. It fits the extended battery (which they sell on that page as well) and being horizontal is about the same width as my belt, so there's no interference when I try to get anything out of my pocket. Also with no quick release there is no chance of the case releasing if you bend the wrong way. The magnet on the snap secures the phone automatically and with it being top loaded ther is no real chance of the phone falling out. I highly reccomend this case.

Wirelessly posted (Toshiba 4050: VM4050/132.037 UP.Browser/6.2.2.4.e.1.100 (GUI) MMP/2.0)
I don't use a case myself..but if i did use one then i would use a bodyglove.
I'm looking at these websites on resellerratings.com... the low ratings are not enough to persuade me to buy from them. Any decently-reliable sources to purchase cell phone items (preferably both for the VM4050 and treo650)? TIA

Just got my phone the VM4050 from sprint after having about 3 of the other non camera phones and this is far the best. The video quality is ok, then again i dont really use it that often, just when i see something hilarious that friends woul dlove to see. THe camera takes good pictures as long as there is good lighting, the "flash" it has isnt the best. But as far as reception and look and capabilities , its the best. I got a good deal on mine through the sprint salesman. $30 bucks to be exact. what can i say. Best 30 bucks ive spent!. and it came with the best case ive seen for a phone, fits perfectly and doesnt get in the way. all in all i give it a 10~ :)

How do you replace the face plate for the 4050?
